HAMMOND, La. – Members of the back-to-back Southland Conference champion Southeastern Louisiana University baseball program elevated their professional development over the past several months in a myriad of summer collegiate leagues, with several enjoying breakthrough performances.
 
Right-handers Brady St. Pierre and Truitt Webb spent the summer on the Cape, pitching for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod League. St. Pierre logged the lowest ERA (1.02) of any pitcher in the circuit with at least five starts, while Webb led the league in saves (7). Both represented the Lions in the annual Cape Cod League All-Star game, with St. Pierre earning the start for the West squad.
 
Connor Cuff hit .351 in 20 games with the Wareham (MA) Gatemen of the Cape Cod League. The Lions' leading returning power hitter, he produced the highest batting average of any Wareham regular while also generating four doubles, one homer and nine RBIs.
 
Cameron Greene, a transfer infielder from UT Martin, was named the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League Player of the Year after helping lead the Lima (OH) Locos to a franchise record 31 wins and a North Division title. Greene was the starting third baseman for the North Team in the GLSCL All-Star game and added first-team All-GLSCL honors to his list of accolades. 
 
Greene led the GLSCL in hits (51) and runs (43), finishing second in batting average (.395) and fourth in the league with a .589 slugging percentage. He was named the GLSCL Co-Player of the Week on July 6 and was also the NACSB Player of the Week after going 12-for-21 at the plate. Greene hit three home runs with 14 RBIs, scoring 15 runs with 18 total bases and stole four bases for that week. In June, he enjoyed an 11-game hitting streak and for the season had 15-multi-hit games, including seven three-hit performances.
 
Peyton Woods enjoyed a nice summer with the Jackson (TN) Rockabillys of the Prospect League. The reigning Southland Conference Hitter of the Year hit .346 in 25 games, with five doubles, a pair of home runs and 23 RBIs.
 
Garner Anderson, a transfer outfielder from UT Martin, hit .393 in 14 games for the Rockabillys, with four doubles, a pair of triples and 12 RBIs. Former catcher Blaise Priester finished out his amateur eligibility playing 22 games with the Rockabillys. He hit .265 in 22 games, with three doubles, one triple, five homers and 21 RBIs.
 
Patrick Spencer, a transfer pitcher from Mississippi State, and Hollis Porter, a transfer first baseman from Texas Tech, spent time with the Aberdeen (MD) Ironbirds of the MLB Draft League. Porter hit .172 in 17 games, with three doubles, three home runs and six RBIs. Spencer picked up a save in eight appearances, striking out 11 batters in 7.2 innings pitched.
 
Four players spent time in the Texas Collegiate League. Jacob Keys appeared in 43 games for the Baton Rouge Rougarou, hitting .253 with six doubles, one triple and two home runs. He finished third in the circuit with 36 RBIs.
 
Right-handers Carson Robb and Kaleb Howell, along with southpaw Larson Fabre, all logged time on the mound for the Rougarou. Robb struck out 31 batters in 16 innings pitched, picking up 3 saves. Howell appeared in a pair of games, averaging a strikeout per inning over his four innings of work. Fabre worked exclusively as a starter, picking up three wins and striking out 34 batters in 32.1 innings pitched.
 
Left-hander Sawyer Simmons appeared in nine games for the Lake Charles Gumbeaux Gators, serving as a mainstay in their starting rotation. Simmons picked up a pair of wins, striking out 35 batters in 29.1 innings pitched.
 
Outfielder Brooks Wright and right-hander Logan Freche spent time in the Northwoods League with the Willmar (MN) Stingers. Wright hit .302 with three doubles, one homer and six RBIs. Freche split time between the rotation and the bullpen, striking out 18 batters in 20 innings of work.
 
Ray Jesse, a transfer catcher from Indiana State, hit .241 in 10 games with the Edenton Steamers of the Old North State League. He produced a pair of doubles and drove in eight runs.
 
Right-hander Owen Stemple and catcher Gavin Panks, along with infielder Brock Laird and Josh Henson, helped the Saskatoon (SK) Berries earn a Western Canada Baseball League playoff bid. All three hitters finished among the league leaders in several offensive categories.
 
Panks hit .367 in 42 games, with nine doubles, one triple, one home run and 41 RBIs. Laird hit .344 in 53 games, producing 13 doubles, three triples, six home runs and 42 RBIs. Henson flashed some power, hitting .316 in 52 games while knocking 13 doubles, one triple and 11 homers. He also drove in 64 runs.
 
Stempel compiled a 4-0 record and a 4.03 ERA over 44.2 innings, striking out 47 batters.
 
Right-handers Jacob Thorn and Dalton Gray spent time with the West Florida Baseball Academy Team Blue and the Southeastern Collegiate Team Cardinal, respectively.
 
Outfielder Rhett Centanni and right-hander Brady Schmidt, along with incoming infielder Connor Micheu and utility player Everett Denny, helped carry the New Orleans Boosters to the national AABA Tournament in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
