HAMMOND, La. – The defending Southland Conference regular-season champion Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team hosts defending Southland Tournament champion Houston Christian in a three-game conference series this weekend at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
 
Games against the Huskies (18-21, 10-11 SLC) are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday, with all three slated for coverage on ESPN+.
 
Fans can listen to all the Southeastern (25-17, 13-8 SLC) baseball action locally on KSLU 90.9 The Lion or worldwide online at either www.LionSports.net/listenlive or www.LionUpRadio.org, via the following apps – Lions Gameday Experience, Live365, iHeart, Audacy, TuneIn and MyTuner Radio - or on Alexa speakers (skill must be enabled first). Each Friday during the season, kids 12 and under will be able to stand alongside their favorite Lion for the National Anthem for Friday Funday.
 
Saturday is Baseball Bingo at the Ballpark. Each Saturday during the season, fans can grab a bingo card from the marketing and promotions table in the concourse and play along. The first 25 valid bingos win a prize from Southeastern Athletics.
 
Sunday is both Military Appreciation Day and Alumni Day. The Lions will celebrate the tradition and pride of our baseball family. Former players, coaches, and fans are invited to return to the field where the memories were made, share stories, and witness the next generation of Lions in action.
 
All former Lion baseball players, coaches and student managers are welcome to participate. Check-in begins at noon next to the ticket booth at the right-field entrance, with an on-field recognition slated for 12:30 p.m. following batting practice.
 
Also, each Sunday during the season, the Lions pay tribute to those who serve with free admission to the ballpark.  One complimentary ticket will be given to those with a valid military ID.
 
SLU is coming off an 11-1, run-rule victory Wednesday over Alcorn and is hitting .279 as a squad with 152 extra-base hits, including 66 home runs.
 
Peyton Woods (.325-4-15), Justin Williams (.320-9-34), Ben Robichaux (.295-9-32) and Connor Cuff (.279-9-30) are the Lions' leading hitters.
HCU, which had a pair of midweek games washed out, is coming off a conference series victory at home over New Orleans.
 
Luke Bard (.384-0-13), Jack Walker (.322-4-27), Nico DeFazio (.312-3-22) and Levi Castilleja (.308-3-22) are the Huskies' leading hitters.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern closes out its non-conference slate with a 6 p.m. game Tuesday against LSU at Alex Box Stadium Skip Bertman Field in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It is the only matchup between the two teams this season.
