HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team travels to Hattiesburg, Mississippi for a rematch Tuesday at Pete Taylor Park with No. 8-ranked Southern Miss.
 
First pitch between the Southeastern (16-12) and the Golden Eagles (21-7) is slated for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.

Luke Lirette (1-0, 3.86) earns the start on the mound for SLU. He will oppose Golden Eagle left-hander Kros Sivley (3-1, 3.86).
 
Peyton Woods (.344, 2 HR, 12 RBI), Ben Robichaux (.324, 6 HR, 24 RBI) and Justin Williams (.289, 4 HR, 21 RBI) are the Lions' leading hitters.
 
Kyle Morrison (.347, 10 HR, 28 RBI), Joey Urban (.324, 8 HR, 28 RBI) and Davis Gillespie (.311, 6 HR, 21 RBI) pace the Golden Eagle offense.
 
Southeastern is coming off a series sweep of New Orleans. Southern Miss took a pair of games from App State in their Sun Belt Conference series this past weekend
 
The Golden Eagles narrowly edged SLU, 3-1, in the previous matchup, February 17, in Hammond.

Southeastern continues on a four-game road trip this week, returning to Southland Conference action at UIW in San Antonio, Texas. Games are scheduled for 2:05 p.m. Thursday and Friday, along with 1:05 p.m. Saturday. ESPN+ coverage is slated for both the series opener and finale.
