HAMMOND, La. – The defending Southland Conference champion Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team hosts Southern Illinois-Edwardsville in a three-game, weekend series at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field, Friday through Sunday.
 
Games between Southeastern (0-4) and the Cougars (1-4) are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. All three games are slated for coverage on ESPN+.
 
Kids age 12 and under can stand on the field during the series opener with their favorite Lion player for the national anthem as part of the Friday Funday promotion. Fans will be able to play baseball bingo during Saturday's contest, with the first 25 winners claiming a prize. Sunday is Military Appreciation Day. One complimentary ticket will be given out per valid military ID.

Brady St. Pierre (0-1, 11.25) earned the Friday night starter's role for the Lions. The sophomore right-hander from LaPlace, Louisiana is the reigning Southland Conference Relief Pitcher of the Year. He will oppose SIUE junior right-hander Jase Phillips (0-1, 4.50).
 
Lakin Polk (0-1, 18.00), a senior right-hander from Ponchatoula, Louisiana, draws the starting assignment for Saturday's contest opposite Cougar sophomore right-hander Tim Teixeira (0-0, 2.25).
 
Blake Lobell (0-0, 4.15) is slated to start the series finale for the Lions. The senior right-hander from Springfield, Louisiana earned All-Conference honors last season. He matches up against SIUE redshirt junior right-hander Spencer Stearns (0-1, 5.40).
 
SLU is led at the plate by Polk (.429), Connor Cuff (.313, 1 RBI), Alex Perry (.308, 2 RBI) and Peyton Woods (.300, 1 RBI).
 
The Lions are coming off a 3-1 loss in Tuesday's non-conference contest against No. 20-ranked Southern Miss. SIUE fell 9-5 on Tuesday to Illinois State in their 2026 home opener.
 
The Cougars are led at the plate by Sean Kang (.429), Ethan Willoughby (.333, 1 RBI) and Gage Franck (.300, 1 RBI).
