The Lady Lions will end the week with Senior Day Saturday

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team is set to host the program's final home games of the 2025-26 season this week in the University Center, taking on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Thursday at 6 p.m., and UTRGV, Saturday, at 1 p.m.

SLU's (4-20, 3-14 in SLC) games against the Islanders (4-20, 3-14) and the Vaqueros (16-10, 13-4) will be televised on ESPN+. The game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi can also be heard on KSLU 90.9 The Lion, online at either www.LionSports.net/listenlive or www.LionUpRadio.org, via the following apps – Lions Gameday Experience, Live365, iHeart, Audacy, TuneIn and MyTuner Radio - or on Alexa speakers (skill must be enabled first). All you have to say is, "Alexa, play K.S.L.U."

Thursday's game against the Islanders will be Pink Out Night. Southeastern fans are encouraged to wear pink to show support for the fight against breast cancer. Saturday's contest against the Vaqueros will be Senior Day. SLU will be celebrating and honoring its seniors in Saturday's game. Tangi Tourism is the sponsor for Saturday's game against UTRGV.

Aliyah Collins (13.5) and Lihi Azouri (11.0) are still averaging scores in the double digits for the Lady Lions. The redshirt junior tallied 35 points last week, including a strong performance against East Texas A&M of 21 points, seven assists, six rebounds, three blocks, and two steals. The freshman Azouri has remained a sharpshooter for SLU, going 6-for-11 from beyond the arc in last week's contests.

Rebounding duties have been shared amongst Southeastern as of late. Bethany Graves has led the team this season with 4.9 boards per game, but Collins totaled the most rebounds over the previous two matchups with nine. SLU has generated more steals than both opponents in the last two games, combining for 19 steals as a team.

Samora Watson has led the Islanders in scoring this season with an 11.7-points-per-game average. Chelsea Wooten and Marissa Shelton are approaching double figures with 9.3 and 9.1 points per game, respectively. K'Nari Holliday leads Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in rebounding with 6.1 boards per game while Rayna Williams remains close with 5.5 rebounds per contest.

The Islanders are in the midst of a five-game losing streak, most recently falling to SFA and Lamar in home games last week. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will continue its road trip Saturday with a visit to Lake Charles, La. to visit the No. 1 Southland Conference team in the McNeese Cowgirls.

UTRGV ranks second in the SLC with a 13-4 conference record. The Vaqueros fell to the Ladyjacks Saturday but won seven games in a row, prior to the loss. UTRGV will visit McNeese before taking on SLU Saturday.

Jalayah Ingram stands at second in the Southland with 17.1 points per game, helping the team rank third offensively among the 12 conference teams. Charlotte O'Keefe has been the best rebounder in the SLC by a large margin, averaging 13.4 boards per game, more than 2.5 rebounds ahead of the second-ranked rebounder. The Vaqueros also are the best rebounding team in the conference with a 42.6 average.

The Islanders lead the all-time series over the Lady Lions, 16-14, winning the previous matchup in Corpus Christi, Texas, 68-65. Southeastern is ahead in the five-game series, 3-2, over UTRGV, but the Vaqueros won the last game in Edinburg, Texas, 78-65.
