HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University football team returned to the AFCA FCS Coaches Top 25 Monday.
 
The Lions (3-2, 1-1 SLC) are ranked No. 25 in the coaches' poll, returning to the Top 25 for the first time since being ranked 20^th in the preseason poll. SLU was the last team out of the Stats Perform FCS Top 25.
 
Southeastern, which was idle this week, is currently on a three-game winning streak heading into the back half of its 2026 slate. The Lions sandwiched wins over North Alabama and Northwestern State around a 38-35 win over FBS foe ULM – SLU's first win over an FBS opponent since the program's return in 2003.
 
Southeastern is one of three Southland teams ranked in the AFCA FCS Coaches Top 25, along with No. 4 SFA and No. 10 Lamar. The Lumberjacks are No. 7 in the Stats Perform poll, while LU sits at No. 11.
 
The Lions will close out a three-game road swing Saturday with a 7 p.m. contest at UTRGV (2-3, 1-2 SLC). Saturday's game will be televised on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 97.7 FM/WFPR 1400 AM).
