Lion duo represent Southeastern among nation's elite heading into 2025 season

HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University defensive lineman Kaleb Proctor and placekicker Guillermo Garcia were named to the Phil Steele FCS Preseason All-America teams released Thursday.

Both Proctor and Garcia were third team preseason All-America selections. All told, 12 Southland Conference student-athletes earned preseason All-America recognition.

Garcia, who hails from Dickinson, Texas, joins the Southeastern program after spending the past two seasons at Prairie View. He was an FCS All-American selection in 2024, connecting on 20-of-25 field goal attempts and all 23 of his point after touchdown tries.

Phil Steele also announced preseason all-conference teams for each FCS conference Thursday. Proctor and Garcia were among the Lions named to the preseason All-SLC first team by the publication, along with offensive lineman Holden Kareokowsky, linebacker KK Reno, punter Alec Mahler and kick returner Brandon Hayes.

Running back Rodeo Graham Jr., offensive lineman Corin Boudreaux, defensive back Khamron Ford and defensive back Ian Conerly-Goodly all represented SLU on the second team.
