Southeastern heads into 2025 with plenty of pass catching options

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University football team will open the 2025 season with a wide receiver group that features a mix of experienced veterans and impact newcomers.

Jaylon Domingeaux is the top returner for the Lions at the receiver position. The Lafayette, Louisiana native was second on the team with 38 catches for 469 yards. Steadily improving since he arrived on campus out of Comeaux High School, Domingeaux projects to have plenty of opportunities to continue his career's upward trajectory.

"I try to tell myself every day to just be consistent in doing the little things right," Domingeaux commented. "If I can do that, I can go to the next level."

Domingeaux is one of several returning veterans among the Lion pass catchers, along with Brandon Hayes, Corey Lorio, Da'shun Hugley, D'Khai Joseph and Jett Booker.

Southeastern will also return Tristan Goodly to the receiver room after missing the entire 2024 season. Goodly will be among newcomers expected to make an impact from the receiver spot – a group that includes Jordyn Williams, Kentrell Prejean and Luke Besh, among others.

"We've jelled as a group very well and it really started for us in the spring," Domingeaux said. "We brought guys together to put in extra work with the quarterbacks, just to build that chemistry we need to be successful. We have bonded well off the field and we feel like we're going to put something special together in Hammond, America."

SLU opens the 2025 campaign next Saturday with a 6:30 p.m. contest at Louisiana Tech. The Lions open their five-game home schedule Sept. 13, hosting Mississippi Valley State at 6 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium.
