HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team will launch the 2025 season on the road against ULM Thursday evening at 5 p.m. in Brown Stadium.
SLU will look to start off strong in its nonconference schedule against the Warhawks of Monroe, La. The in-state foes will be meeting for the 22nd time in school history. Southeastern last made the trek to Monroe in 2023 with the hosts gaining a 2-0 victory.

The Lady Lions return 20 letter winners from last season that finished 6-9-2 overall and 5-4-1 in Southland Conference play. SLU's roster also features 10 talented newcomers, including five transfers and five true freshmen, as fourth-year head coach Nathan Gillespie enters the season with high expectations.
Southeastern is also returning reigning SLC Newcomer of the Year Kendall Curran in the net. The junior goalkeeper played in all 17 games with 15 starts in the net last season to close out with 67 saves, 1.37 goals against average and six wins.
Seniors Rylee Franklin, Maggie Denison and Emma Ramsey found the net last season while Franklin also claimed a game winner against Jackson State.
ULM finished 9-8-3 overall and 3-5-2 in the Sunbelt Conference last season with a first round appearance in the Sunbelt Conference Championship Tournament. The Warhawks gained a six-match winning streak at the beginning of the 2024 season led by forward Blaise Skylar with seven goals.
The senior returner also claimed 17 points, three assists and one game winner last season. The Warhawks also bring back junior midfielder Giulia Franco, who chipped in four goals.
The Lady Lions will continue on their two-match road stretch against Troy Friday, Aug. 22 at 6 p.m in Troy, Ala. The match against the Trojans will be televised on ESPN+.
