HAMMOND, La. – Taylor Ross will continue her academic and athletic endeavors as a member of the Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball program for the 2025-26 season, Southeastern head coach Jeff Dow announced Monday morning.
Ross, a 6-1 forward from Silver Lake, Kansas, spent two seasons at Ellsworth Community College and comes to Hammond, America with three years of eligibility remaining. In her rookie season with the Panthers, Ross made an immediate impact averaging 13.2 points per game and 8.9 rebounds. The freshman played in 28 games, finished 54.7 percent from the field, and 75.0 percent from the free throw line to close out the 2023-24 season. Ross posted 18 games in double digit scoring, six games with 20-plus points, and 13 games with 10 or more rebounds.
"We're excited about the addition of Taylor Ross to our program. At 6'1 she will add more length to our frontline," stated Coach Dow.
This past season, Ross returned with another prolific year, playing in all 31 games, averaging 10.8 points per game and 7.7 rebounds. The sophomore finished the 2024-25 season shooting 54.6 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from behind the arch, and 81.0 percent from the charity stripe. Ross claimed a season high 26 points against Grand View University while securing 18 games in double figures for the second consecutive season with Ellsworth Community College. Ross was named ICCAC Athlete of the Week after finishing two games with double doubles to help the Panthers extend their 10-game winning streak and advance to the Region XI-B Championship. Ross ended the season with nine double doubles for the Panthers.
"She averaged nearly a double-double this season and was a very efficient shooter both from the field and from the free throw line. We envision Taylor having the ability to score from the perimeter, but also be a presence at the rim," commented Dow.
Ross is the tenth signee for the Lady Lions in their 2025-26 signing class, joining Aliyah Collins (5-5, G, College Station, Texas, College Station High School), Eryn McKinzie (5-10, G, Fort Worth, Texas, UIW, Brewer High School), Taylor Wilkins (5-10, G, New Orleans, La., McNeese, UNC Asheville, Mt.
