SLU Hosts 2025 SLC Baseball Championships Hammond Bracket Presented by GeoSurfaces

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team will play host to the 2025 Southland Conference Baseball Championships Hammond Bracket presented by GeoSurfaces this week at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

Conference regular-season champion Southeastern (37-14, 22-8 SLC) is the No. 1 seed and will face eighth-seeded New Orleans (25-24, 12-18 SLC) at 6 p.m. Thursday. The double-elimination, four-team bracket will open at 1 p.m. Thursday, when fourth-seeded Northwestern State (33-19, 19-11 SLC) takes on No. 5 seed McNeese (31-15, 19-11 SLC).

All games in the Hammond Bracket, which runs through Sunday, will air on ESPN+. The winner of the Hammond bracket meets the winner of the Edinburg bracket in the best-of-three championship series, May 22-24, at the highest remaining seed.

Fans can listen to SLU game broadcasts in the Hammond area on KSLU 90.9 The Lion. In addition, an audio stream is available online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via the Lions Gameday Experience and MyTuner Radio apps. The MyTuner app is compatible with the Apple CarPlay software available in most late-model automobiles.

Hitting .295 as a team, the Lions rank 29th nationally with 81 home runs. The home run total is the third-most in program history, six shy of breaking the program's single-season record established last season.

Southeastern also currently ranks third in the nation in shutouts (8), fourth in double plays turned (49) and seventh with a 3.58 staff ERA.

Dane Watts (.345, 7 HR, 34 RBI), TJ Salvaggio (.324, 13 HR, 45 RBI) and Giovanni Licciardi (.308, 2 HR, 28 RBI) pace the SLU offense at the plate. Salvaggio enters the tournament in third place on SLU's career home run chart (34), three behind former teammate Preston Faulkner (2018-22).
