NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team wiped out an early Tulane lead on the way to a 7-3 non-conference win Tuesday at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium, snapping the Green Wave's four-game winning streak.
 
Southeastern (26-7) fell behind, 3-0, through the first two innings.
 
Cole Stromboe started a game-tying rally, leading off the third with an infield single. 
Giovanni Licciardi followed with a single through the right side of the infield, chasing Tulane (21-13) starting pitcher John-Paul Sauer from the game.
 
Two outs later, 
Conner O'Neal launched a home run down the right-field line off reliever Wes Burton. The three-run blast was his 10
th of the season, making him the second Lion to reach double figures this season.
 
Junior reliever 
Nick Gisclair quieted down the Tulane bats, striking out three. The right-hander from Prairieville, Louisiana retired all six batters he faced during his two-inning stint.
 
With two outs in the fifth, 
Ryan Brome dropped a single into right field. After issuing a walk to 
TJ Salvaggio, Tulane pulled Burton in favor of reliever Garrett Payne. The Lions greeted him with three consecutive singles. O'Neal's single plated Brome for a 4-3 lead. 
Mo Little followed with an infield hit, driving in Salvaggio for good measure.
 
SLU picked up insurance runs in the seventh, on a 
Dane Watts RBI single up the middle, and in the ninth on a bases-loaded walk.
 
Brady St. Pierre closed out the game with a strikeout and a double play, logging a scoreless ninth.
 
Chase Ambrose (2-1) earned the win, allowing three runs – two earned – in two innings of work. He scattered four hits and did not walk a batter, striking out a pair. Burton (0-2) suffered the loss for Tulane, allowing three runs – all earned – in 2.2 innings of relief work.
 
In addition to Gisclair and St. Pierre, the Lions received scoreless outings from 
Kaleb Howell, 
Truitt Webb and 
Aiden Vosburg in relief.
 
O'Neal (2-for-4) and Watts (2-for-3) picked up multiple hits apiece for Southeastern.
 
UP NEXT
The Lions continue their four-game road swing with a trip down to the Coastal Bend of Texas. SLU squares off with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a three-game conference series, Friday through Sunday, at Chapman Field in Corpus Christi, Texas.
 
Game times are slated for 6 p.m. Friday, 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. All three contests are slated for coverage on ESPN+.
