SLU Welcomes Graves, Ramos for 2025-26

Southeastern adds Bethany Graves and Mia Ramos to 2025-26 signing class

HAMMOND, La. – Bethany Graves and Mia Ramos agreed to continue their academic and athletic endeavors as members of the Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball program for the 2025-26 season, Southeastern head coach Jeff Dow declared Monday afternoon.

Graves, a 5-11 forward from Pascagoula, Mississippi, spent the first two seasons of her collegiate career at Southwest Mississippi Community College after a solid career as a three-sport athlete at Pascagoula High School. Graves played varsity basketball all four years while competing in volleyball and softball for two seasons.

"We wanted to add a post presence to our roster and we feel that we've done that with the signing of Bethany Graves," stated Coach Dow. "She can score on the blocks and she also has the ability to step outside and play facing up. We anticipate Bethany being a physical presence for us in the paint, defensively and on the boards."

In her first season with the Lady Bears, Graves was an important piece in the team's rotation, appearing in all 30 games. The freshman averaged 8.3 points per game and 4.0 rebounds while also taking care of business academically with a 3.5 grade point average. Graves finished the 2023-24 season, named to the Dean's List and an MACCC Academic All-State honoree.

This past season, Graves helped Southwest Mississippi CC finish 13-3 at home and make it to the quarterfinals of the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament. The sophomore improved as the second leading scorer to average 12.2 points per game and 5.0 rebounds while finishing 55.5 percent from the field. Graves posted a career high 27 points against LSU-Eunice and comes to Hammond, America with three years of eligibility.

Ramos, a 5-7 guard from San Antonio, Texas, completed her high school career at Brandeis High School. The incoming freshman claimed a successful career with over 1,000 career points while being named to the Alamo City Hoops 2024 Final 40 rankings at No. 17. Ramos averaged 18.5 points per game, 3.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.7 assists in her final season at Brandeis. The senior finished with a prolific season, named 6A District 27 MVP, three-time First Team All-District selection, and TABC All-State. Ramos was also named to the Express News Area Team and Express News Super Team alongside being a TABC All-Region and All-Star Selection.

"Mia Ramos is a player I have had the opportunity to watch for several years. We envision her being a combo guard for us with the ability to play the point or as a two-guard," commented Dow. "She has the potential to be a dynamic scorer, particularly behind the 3-point line. Her ability to space the floor with her deep range, and her competitiveness has always stood out to me."

Proving to be a scholar in the classroom, Ramos earned an THSCA Academic All-State and THSCA Academic All-Region selection. She comes to Hammond, America with four years of eligibility and is the first incoming freshman of the 2025-26 signing class.

Graves and Ramos are the fifth signees for SLU in its 2025-26 signing class, joining Aliyah Collins (5-5, G, College Station, Texas, College Station High School), Eryn McKinzie (5-10, G, Fort Worth, Texas, UIW, Brewer High School), and Taylor Wilkins (5-10, G, New Orleans, La., McNeese, UNC Asheville, Mt.
