HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team faces a rematch with No. 22-ranked Southern Miss at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
 
Fans can listen to game broadcasts in the Hammond area on KSLU 90.9 The Lion. In addition, an audio stream is available online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via the Lions Gameday Experience and MyTuner Radio apps. The MyTuner app is compatible with the Apple CarPlay software available in most late-model automobiles.

It is the second time the schools will meet on the baseball diamond in a little over a week. Southeastern (31-9) succumbed to a late Golden Eagle (27-13) rally, 8-7, in Hammond, April 15.
 
SLU bounced back to take 2-of-3 games from UTRGV in a Southland Conference series this past weekend.
 
Hitting .306 as a team, the Lions rank 13th nationally with 70 home runs. Southeastern also ranks third in the nation in both shutouts (6) and double plays turned (42) and fifth with a 3.38 staff ERA.
 
Dane Watts (.368, 5 HR, 28 RBI), 
Ryan Brome (.359, 12 HR, 36 RBI), 
Giovanni Licciardi (.342, 22 RBI), 
TJ Salvaggio (.317, 11 HR, 40 RBI) and Ben Robichuax (.312, 7 HR, 20 RBI) pace the SLU offense at the plate.
 
Jake Cook (.354, 13 RBI), Nick Monistere (.335, 14 HR, 49 RBI) and Tucker Stockman (.308, 3 HR, 15 RBI) are the Golden Eagles' leading hitters.
 
Southern Miss is hitting .292 as a team, ranking 16th nationally with 67 home runs.
 
The Golden Eagles, who took 2-of-3 games from Georgia State over the weekend in a Sun Belt Conference series over the weekend, host Tulane in non-conference action Tuesday ahead of the game against SLU.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern (16-5 SLC) returns to conference action this weekend in another key Southland series at Houston Christian (22-16, 14-7 SLC). Games are slated for 6:30 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Husky Field in Houston, Texas.
 
SLU is tied for first in the conference standings with McNeese (16-5 SLC). The Cowboys travel to third-place UTRGV (17-7 SLC) this weekend. HCU is in fourth place, two games out of first.
