YOUNGSVILLE, La. – The reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana University softball team rolled to a 13-0 victory over Monmouth on the final day of the Mardi Gras Mambo Sunday at the Youngsville Sports Complex.
Southeastern (16-6) used a single-game school record five triples to cap its 5-0 tournament performance.

Maria Detillier,
Cydnee Schneider,
Maddie Watson and
Shelby Morris each tripled for the Lady Lions to help drop Monmouth to 4-15 overall.
Morris, who hit her first collegiate home run and drove in five runs, and Watson led SLU with three hits apiece. Schneider, Detillier and
Kailey Dixon each contributed two hits to Southeastern's 15-hit attack.

Hallie Burns combined to hold Monmouth to five hits on the way to the Lady Lions' third straight shutout win and ninth shutout victory of the season.
SLU took the lead off Monmouth starter Jayla Cadena (2-4) in the bottom of the first inning. Magee hit a one-hopper off the left field fence for a triple, then scored when Detillier singled her home. Later in the frame,
Brilee Ford reached on a fielder's choice and later scored on an RBI single by Schneider. Watson followed with a triple of her own to give SLU a 3-0 cushion.
The Lady Lions padded their lead in their half of the second. Morris' first collegiate home run easily cleared the right field fence and gave SLU a 4-0 advantage.
SLU continued to pour it on in the bottom of the third inning. Detillier led off the inning with a triple to centerfield and scored on an RBI single by Ford. Schneider followed with a triple of her own to plate Ford, then scored on an RBI single by Watson. Morris singled home two more runs in an inning that saw the first eight Lady Lions reach and the lead extend to 9-0
Southeastern closed out the scoring in the fourth.
Addison Contorno, Morris and Magee all drove in runs in a four-run frame that put the Lady Lions up, 13-0.
SLU will close out a 12-game road swing Wednesday with a 6 p.m. game at Southern Miss. Wednesday's contest will be televised on ESPN+.
