HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team heads out on the road for the final two games of its 2024-25 regular season, looking to earn at least a single bye and potentially a double bye in the upcoming Southland Conference Basketball Championships, as it takes on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas-Rio Grande Valley to wrap up the season.
Saturday's game between the Lions (18-11, 12-6 SLC) and Islanders (17-13, 10-8 SLC) is set for 4:30 p.m. in the American Bank Center while Monday's game against the Vaqueros (14-15, 6-12 SLC) will tip off at 6:30 p.m. at the UTRGV Fieldhouse. Both games will be televised on ESPN+ with live stats also available through the host institutions. A radio broadcast will not be available for either contest.
Southeastern can wrap up a single bye to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Southland Conference Basketball Championships with one win in its last two contests while the Lions can still clinch the tournament's two-seed and a double bye all the way to the semifinal round with a couple wins and some assistance from outside. Lamar (18-11, 13-5 SLC), who SLU defeated in their lone meeting this season, is currently a game up on the Lions to get the two-seed and hosts McNeese (23-6, 17-1 SLC) and Nicholls (18-11, 12-6 SLC). The Colonels, who are also battling Lamar and SLU for the two-seed, play at a desperate Stephen F. Austin squad, (14-15, 7-11 SLC), who is trying to get into the SLC Tournament field, before going to Lamar to end its regular season.
The Lions enter the final week of the regular season looking to get back on the right footing after suffering a tough 72-69 defeat to Northwestern State in the regular season home finale on Monday night.

Brody Rowbury tied his career high with 20 points against the Demons while grabbing six rebounds, giving out a pair of assists, blocked a shot, and came up with a steal.

After a 6-1 start to conference play, A&M-Corpus Christi has dropped seven of its last 11 contests, including four of its last six and two-straight. In its last contest, the Islanders held a 14-point first half lead at Nicholls, only to see the Colonels storm back during the second half and take a 71-69 decision from TAMUCC Monday Night at David R.
