HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University defensive end Evan Aubrey was named to the FCS Football Central Freshman All-America Team, which was announced by FCS Football Central on SI Monday.
 
Aubrey, an Orleans, Ontario, Canada native, was honored after a redshirt freshman campaign that saw him become a key pass rusher over the latter half of the 2025 season.
He finished the season with 27 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
 
Aubrey posted two tackles for loss in a 59-14 victory over East Texas A&M, recording sacks versus HCU, East Texas A&M, UIW, Nicholls and No. 17 Illinois State. He also forced a fumble in a 56-3 nonconference win over Mississippi Valley State.
 
Aubrey was one of nine Southland Conference performers named to the FCS Football Central Freshman All-America Team. He joined HCU running back Xai'Shaun Edwards, UTRGV wide receiver Tony Diaz, UTRGV offensive lineman Nick Hughes, UTRGV linebacker Jaiden Haygood, HCU defensive back Tyran Chappell, UTRGV defensive back Alijah Prosser, SFA punter Lachie Pozzobon and Lamar kick returner LaDamian McDowell.
