HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team will be back in the University Center Sunday, Dec. 7, hosting Northwestern State in the second Southland Conference matchup of the season at 1 p.m.
Sunday's SLC contest between SLU (2-4) and Northwestern State (3-4) will be televised on ESPN+. The game can also be heard on KSLU 90.9 The Lion, online at either

Sunday's game against Northwestern State is Lion Slam night. Fans can attend the game to get in on halftime activities, giveaways, and more.
Eryn McKinzie will be Sunday's Spotlight Player of the Game. The first 150 fans to attend the game will receive a trading card, featuring the Fort Worth, Texas, native.
The Lady Lions will return home Sunday after a road loss at Baylor in Waco, Texas, Wednesday. Southeastern has won both of its home matchups this season, defeating Centenary in the season-opener and East Texas A&M in the team's first SLC contest.
Aliyah Collins was SLU's leading scorer in its game at Baylor, posting 15 points and shooting 54.5% from the field.
Lihi Azouri owns a team-leading average of 13.3 points per game, while
Natalie Huff has also averaged double-figures offensively, notching 10.3 points through six games.
Eryn McKinzie (8.8) and Collins (9.5) are next on the list, approaching a double-digit scoring average.
Taylor Ross and
Bethany Graves are tied for the team-leading rebounding average of 4.3 boards per game. Huff remains the team's leader in takeaways, averaging two steals per game.
Vernell Atamah has been a strong contributor for the Lady Demons on the offensive end of the floor, averaging 21.1 points per game, the only Northwestern State player with a double-figure scoring average. The sophomore is coming off a 27-point performance in a loss to Purdue Fort Wayne. Atamah has been accurate from beyond the arc, totaling 25 three-pointers in the team's seven games, averaging 43.1% from that range.
Clarence Djuela and Carla Celaya have reeled in the most rebounds for the Lady Demons, averaging 6.7 and 6.4 rebounds per game, respectively. Celaya is also NSU's leader in steals with a dozen swipes through seven contests.
The Lady Demons, who are in the midst of a two-game slide with losses to Virginia (69-48) and Purdue Fort Wayne (77-68) in Destin, Fla., will play its first SLC contest Sunday.
Southeastern's all-time record against Northwestern State is 23-30. SLU hosted the Lady Demons in the last matchup, winning the game 65-58 in the University Center during the 2024-25 season.
