HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University defensive tackle
Kaleb Proctor and linebacker
KK Reno added to their list of postseason accolades Tuesday, as both were named to the 2025 Associated Press FCS All-America Team in an announcement from the AP.
Proctor was a second team selection on Tuesday's list, while Reno was an honorable mention choice. The honor comes just a day after both were named to the FCS Football Central All-America Team – Proctor to the first team and Reno to the second team.
Proctor, Reno and
Brandon Hayes – a third team FCS Football Central All-America pick – give Southeastern 50 All-Americans in program history. Of those 50, 25 have been recognized as All-Americans by the Associated Press.
Proctor, the Southland Conference Player of the Year, and Reno, the SLC Defensive Player of the Year, are the first defensive teammates in conference history to take home Player and Defensive Player of the Year honors in the same season. The seniors were the leaders of a Southeastern defense that ranks among the FCS leaders in scoring defense (18.0, 9th), total defense (295.2, 8th), sacks per game (3.08, 9th), tackles for loss per game (7.0, 11th), first downs allowed (201, 7th) and third down conversion percentage defense (31.8, 9th).
The top-rated FCS interior lineman by PFF, Proctor was the seventh defensive player in SLC history to be named the league's Player of the Year. The Oak Grove, Louisiana native led the Southland with nine sacks from his defensive tackle position and finished seventh in the voting for the Buck Buchanan Award.
Reno, who joined SLU Athletics Hall of Famer Cqulin Hubert as the only Southland Defensive Players of the Year in program history, led the league with 126 tackles – the sixth-highest single-season total in program history. Named
Stats Perform National Defensive Player of the Week after recording 17 tackles in a 10-7 win at UIW, the New Iberia, Louisiana native posted seven games – six on the road - with double-digit tackles this fall.
Proctor was the only Southland Conference player on the AP second team. Reno was joined on the honorable mention list by SFA offensive linemen Erik Gray and Jake Henry, UIW wide receiver Jalen Walthall, UTRGV wide receiver Tony Diaz, SFA all-purpose player Bugs Mortimer, SFA linebacker Jaydon Southard, as well as SFA defensive backs Charles Demmings and Jalen Mayo.
