2025 FCS Football Central All-Americans

Proctor, Reno, Hayes Represent SLU on FCS Football Central All-America Team

Senior trio's selections mark 14th straight season Southeastern has produced an All-American

HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University defensive tackle Kaleb Proctor, linebacker KK Reno and kick returner Brandon Hayes were all named to the 2025 FCS Football Central All-America Team, FCS Football Central on SI announced Monday.

Proctor was a first team selection, while Reno was a second team choice and Hayes was named to the third team. The selections marked the 14th consecutive season the SLU football program has produced at least one All-American.

Proctor and Reno were the leaders of a Southeastern defense that ranks among the FCS leaders in scoring defense (18.0, 9th), total defense (295.2, 8th), sacks per game (3.08, 9th), tackles for loss per game (7.0, 11th), first downs allowed (201, 7th) and third down conversion percentage defense (31.8, 9th).

Named the Southland Conference Player of the Year and finishing seventh in the Buck Buchanan award voting, Proctor was the leader on and off the field for a Southeastern team that finished the regular season with a 9-1 record versus FCS opposition. Rated as the top FCS interior defensive lineman by PFF with a grade of 90.6 and 36 total pressures, the Oak Grove, Louisiana native has drawn all 32 NFL teams to the SLU campus this fall and is projected to be a late-day 2/early-day 3 pick in next spring's NFL Draft.

Proctor led the Southland Conference with nine sacks from his defensive tackle position, while also ranking fifth in the league in tackles for loss. He also had two sacks and three tackles for loss at FBS then-No. 3/4 LSU.

Named the Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Reno was second in the Southland in tackles per game and led the league in total tackles. The New Iberia, Louisiana native's 126 stops on the year are good for seventh in FCS and are the sixth-highest single-season total in program history.

Reno was named Stats Perform FCS National and Southalnd Conference Defensive Player of the Week after recording a career-high 17 tackles in a 10-7 victory at UIW. The performance in the road win was one of seven double-digit tackle performances for Reno, who recorded 16 tackles at Lamar, 14 tackles at then-No.3/4 LSU, 11 tackles at McNeese, as well as 10 tackles at Louisiana Tech, at HCU and versus East Texas A&M.

Named first-team All-Southland Conference at kick returner for the second straight season, Hayes led the Southland Conference and is third in the NCAA with 30.7 yards per kickoff return and is one of five FCS players with multiple kickoff return touchdowns this fall.

The Hattiesburg, Miss. product returned kickoffs for touchdowns in consecutive weeks in wins over SLC foes Northwestern State and HCU. Such a dangerous weapon in the return game, opponents kicked away from Hayes in the season's final month, allowing him only four returns in November.

Southeastern and league champion SFA represented the Southland Conference on the FCS Football Central All-America Team. Proctor was joined on the first team by Lumberjack linebacker Jaydon Southard, defensive back Charles Demmings and punt returner Bugs Mortimer.

Reno was accompanied on the second team by SFA offensive lineman Erik Gray and defensive back Jalen Mayo. Hayes and Stephen F. Austin wide receiver Kylon Harris were the SLC's third team representatives.
