HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team will continue its four game road stretch against Georgia Tech Monday at 8 p.m. Central Time in the McCamish Pavilion.
Southeastern (0-2) will travel to Atlanta, Ga. for its third non-conference matchup of the season against Georgia Tech (2-0). Monday's game against the Yellow Jackets will be the second all-time meeting between the two programs. The teams last met in 2015 with Georgia Tech claiming a 75-62 victory.

SLU fell short in its 58-52 loss against Louisiana Friday night on the road. The Lions came out flat as the Ragin' Cajuns secured an 11-point scoring run in the opening minutes of the game. Southeastern closed out the first half with missed opportunities at the free throw line, but weathered the storm to regroup in the second half. Chicago State transfer Jalen Forrest provided a spark off the bench for SLU to claim 14 points and five rebounds, shooting 4-9 from the field and 5-5 from the charity stripe.
Southeastern battled in the second half to bring the game within its closest five-point reach as sophomore Jeremy Elyzee (10 points) stepped up with four rebounds and three assists. The Ragin' Cajuns held strong to maintain their lead with three players in double-figures led by Jaxon Olvera with 20 points and five rebounds.
Junior guard Jaiden Lawrence leads the Lions in scoring, averaging 11.5 points per game while tying with fifth-year senior Isaiah Gaines to secure 5.0 rebounds per contest. Forrest has contributed a spark for Southeastern, averaging 8.5 points and 4.0 per rebounds with 1.5 steals per game to lead the team. Redshirt sophomore CJ Booker (7.0 ppg) and UAB transfer Makhi Myles (7.5 ppg) have also stepped up for SLU in its previous matchups as Booker leads the team with 2.5 assists per game.
Georgia Tech closed out week one of college hoops undefeated at home. The Jackets secured a 56-52 overtime victory over Maryland Eastern Shore before gaining a 75-45 win over Bryant. Georgia Tech scored 38 points in the paint, 25 bench points, and 15 points off turnovers while shooting 46.0 percent from the field and 43.5 percent from behind the arc. Four players finished the night in double-figures against the Bulldogs led by Kowacie Reeves Jr. with 18 points and two assists.
Reeves Jr. leads the Jackets in scoring so far in their non-conference slate, averaging 15.0 points per game with six assists and three steals. The redshirt senior led Georgia Tech in three-point shooting last season while averaging 2.5 blocks per game. The Jackets have also heavily relied on Mouhamed Sylla in their last two matchups, averaging 12.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game with four steals to lead the team. Junior forward Baye Ndongo also holds a key role for Georgia Tech, contributing 10.0 points per game and 7.0 rebounds alongside Kam Craft (8.0 ppg).
Concluding Monday's game, the Lions will remain on the road to face Mississippi State Saturday at 2 p.m. in Starkville, Miss. The game against the Bulldogs will be streamed on the SEC Network +.
