HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team will remain on the road to face Louisiana-Lafayette Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Cajundome.

Southeastern (0-1) will embark on its second road game of the 2025-26 season against the Ragin' Cajuns (0-1). Friday's matchup will mark the 57th meeting between these in-state opponents as the contest will be televised on ESPN+. SLU fell 88-58 in its 2025-26 season opener against Ole Miss Monday night on the road. The Lions came out the gate off to a solid start to stun the hosts as they went back and forth the majority of the first half. The Rebels claimed a 17-point scoring run in the final minutes of the first half to secure the momentum before the halftime break. Ole Miss continued to pull away in the second half as four players finished in double-figures for the hosts.

Junior guard Jaiden Lawrence led Southeastern in double-digits with 15 points alongside UAB transfer Makhi Myles with 10 points and two assists. Myles provided a spark off the bench for SLU, shooting 3-4 from the field, 1-2 from behind the arc and 3-3 from the charity stripe. Fifth year Isaiah Gaines led the Lions on the glass with five rebounds while Peter Hemschemeier dished out three assists.

Louisiana suffered a 75-64 loss to Ball State in its season opener Monday in Muncie, Ind. The Ragin' Cajuns held off the Cardinals in the first half with a 29-28 advantage before the halftime break. The hosts pulled away late in the second half to record the eight-point victory over Louisiana. The Ragin' Cajuns are led by Oklahoma State transfer Jamyron Keller with 21 points and four assists. Jaxon Olvera followed up with 13 points and 6 rebounds for Louisiana while De'vion Lavergne contributed 10 points, four rebounds and four assists.

The Ragin' Cajuns also worked to rebuild this offseason as they added 13 newcomers with five returners under first-year head coach Quannas White. Louisiana closed out the 2024-25 season in the second round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

The Lions will continue on the road, traveling to Atlanta, Ga. to face Georgia Tech Monday, November 10. Monday's game will be streamed on the ACC Network.
