SLU Opens 2025-26 Road Slate at No. 5 LSU

Southeastern (1-0) heads to Baton Rouge Thursday for 7 p.m. contest at Tigers (1-0)

HAMMOND, La. – The reigning Southland Conference regular season champion Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team will hit the road for the first time in 2025-26 Thursday, traveling to No. 5 LSU for a 7 p.m. contest in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
 
The game between SLU (1-0) and the host Tigers (1-0) will be televised on SEC Network+ and can be heard on KSLU 90.9 The Lion, online at either www.LionSports.net/listenlive or www.LionUpRadio.org, via the following apps – Lions Gameday Experience, Live365, iHeart, Audacy, TuneIn and MyTuner Radio - or on Alexa speakers (skill must be enabled first). Southeastern opened the season Monday with a dominant 105-49 victory over Centenary in its first contest under head coach Jeff Dow. The Lady Lions shot 50.7 percent (34-for-67) from the floor in Monday's win on the way to topping 100 points in a game for the first time since the 2009-10 campaign.
 
Taylor Ross led a balanced SLU attack with 16 points. Aliyah Collins and Mia Ramos added 14 points each, followed by Bethany Graves and Natalie Huff with 13 points apiece. Eryn McKinzie chipped in 11 points to give Southeastern six players in double figures. Huff's team-high seven assists highlighted the Lady Lions finishing with 17 assists as a team versus just seven turnovers.
 
Erynn Williams paced SLU with nine rebounds, as Southeastern finished with a 42-29 rebounding edge. The Lady Lions turned 29 Centenary turnovers into 41 points with Huff's seven steals keying the SLU defensive effort.
 
LSU opened the season with a 108-55 victory over Southeastern's Southland Conference rival HCU Tuesday. South Carolina transfer MiLaysia Fulwiley led five Tigers in double figures with 21 points off the bench. ZaKiyah Johnson posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Mikaylah Williams (seven assists) and Fulwiley (seven steals) were the other stat leaders for the Tigers.
 
Southeastern is 12-38 all-time versus LSU. The teams last met during the 2023-24 season with the Tigers earning a 73-50 win in Hammond.
 
Thursday's contest will be the first of three straight on the road for SLU and the first of back-to-back contests at SEC competition. The Lady Lions next head to Arkansas for a 6:30 p.m. contest Nov. 13 in Fayetteville, Ark. The game at the Razorbacks will be televised on SEC Network+.
