SLU Hosts East Texas A&M Saturday

Southeastern (1-3) is set for its first SLC matchup this weekend

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team will play its first home game since the season opener Saturday, when the Lady Lions host East Texas A&M in the University Center, at 1 p.m.
 
Saturday's Nov. 22 SLC home matchup between SLU (1-3) and East Texas A&M (2-2) will be televised on ESPN+. The game can also be heard on KSLU 90.9 The Lion, online at either www.LionSports.net/listenlive or www.LionUpRadio.org, via the following apps – Lions Gameday Experience, Live365, iHeart, Audacy, TuneIn and MyTuner Radio - or on Alexa speakers (skill must be enabled first). All you have to say is, "Alexa, play K.S.L.U."
 
Saturday's home contest against East Texas A&M is Green Out Night. Fans are encouraged to wear green to support the Lady Lions. Fans can stick around after the game for a post-game autograph session to meet their favorite players. Natalie Huff will be Southeastern's Spotlight Player of the Game. The first 150 fans at the game will receive a trading card featuring the SLU guard, courtesy of PRIDE.
 
The Lady Lions return home after a three-game road trip that ended with a loss to Southern Miss on Tuesday.
 
Through four games, Natalie Huff is the Lady Lions' leading scorer, averaging 11.3 per contest. The redshirt freshman paced SLU with 16 points against the Lady Eagles in Hattiesburg, Miss. Lihi Azouri and Aliyah Collins have each averaged 8.5 points and 8.0 points per game, respectively. Mia Ramos scored the second-most points against USM, recording a double-digit effort of 10 points on 5-for-7 shooting.
 
Huff also leads the Lady Lions on the defensive end of the floor, collecting a dozen steals over four games. She also recorded a team-high six rebounds against the Lady Eagles for an average of 3.8 per contest. Taylor Ross is the team's leader in rebounds through four games, averaging 5.3 on the season.
 
East Texas A&M has two scorers averaging scores in double-figures through four games. Reza Po is the Lions' scoring leader, averaging 15.3 points per game, while Nina Horvath trails her with 11.8 points through four contests. ETAMU has put together a collective effort on rebounding, led by Rezia Castillo's 4.3 rebounds per game. Terrayah McCoy is the team's leader in steals, totaling 11 in the team's four games.
 
The Lions fell to No. 8/7 Oklahoma on Wednesday night, 112-59. East Texas A&M's two leading scorers in the game were Po (15) and Tiani Ellison (14). The Lions generated 18 steals in the game with Horvath leading the way at four steals, while Po, McCoy, and Cora Horvath each brought in three.
 
Southeastern's all-time record against East Texas A&M is 7-0. SLU defeated East Texas A&M in the last matchup in a 75-55 win in the University Center.
 
The Lady Lions will go back on the road for a matchup against Baylor, Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m, in Waco, Texas.
