Southeastern Earns Player of the Year, Three All-Conference SLC Postseason Awards

Kyra McKelvey, India Bennett, and Alexis Logarbo were honored by the Southland Conference Wednesday

FRISCO, Texas – The two-time reigning Southland Conference regular season champion Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team was honored by the Southland Conference Wednesday, when Kyra McKelvey, India Bennett, and Alexis Logarbo received SLC accolades.
 
Kyra McKelvey was selected for the SLC Player of the Year award. McKelvey and India Bennett were both named to the SLC All-Conference First Team after both were selected to the Second Team in 2024. Alexis Logarbo made her first All-Conference list, earning a spot on the SLC Second Team.
 
The junior McKelvey is the conference's leader in hitting percentage, averaging .354. The Navarre, Fla., native ranks fourth in the SLC in kills per set with 3.72 and total kills at 365. Her strongest offensive performance of the season was a career-high-tying 21-kill game at Central Arkansas, on Sept. 6. She has 22 games this season with double-digit kills, reaching the 20-kill mark three times. McKelvey has also earned SLC Offensive Player of the Week twice this season, receiving the honor on Sept. 1 and Oct. 28.
 
The redshirt senior Bennett leads the Southland Conference in blocks and blocks per set, totaling 134 rejections with 1.51 per set. The Prairieville, La., native, ranked eighth in the conference in hitting percentage at .311, notched 21 kills in the best offensive performance of her collegiate career at Nicholls on Nov. 11. Defensively, Bennett had a career-high 13 rejections against Jackson State on Aug. 30. Bennett has totaled three SLC Defensive Player of the Week awards in 2025, earning those on Sept. 8, Sept. 29, and Oct. 28.
 
Senior Alexis Logarbo is one of SLU's best attackers, ranking fifth in the SLC in hitting percentage at .324. Against Stephen F. Austin on Senior Day, The Geismar, La., native posted a season-high of 15 kills. Logarbo has been one of SLU's most consistent attackers, totaling eight games of double-digit kills. Most recently, Logarbo had three straight games with 15 kills each, ending with the team's final home game against SFA.
 
The Lady Lions will continue their season on Friday, when the team travels to Commerce, Texas, for the Southland Conference Volleyball Championship Tournament on Nov. 21, at 10 a.m. In the quarterfinal round, No. 3-seeded SLU will face off against No. 6-seeded Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, available to watch on ESPN+.
