The Lions came out to a solid start against the Yellow Jackets as they forced the hosts into 13 turnovers in the first half. SLU ended the first half with a 31-29 lead, but Georgia Tech rallied back in the second half with a 41-29 scoring advantage to secure the win.

Three Lions finished in double-figures led by fifth year senior Isaiah Gaines with a season high 12 points and six rebounds. Jeremy Elyzee and Jaiden Lawrence closed out the contest with 10 points apiece as both posted their second game in double-digit scoring. Elyzee led the team with three assists and three steals against the Yellow Jackets. Lawrence currently leads Southeastern in scoring, averaging 11.0 points per game and 5.0 rebounds.

Mississippi State suffered a 96-80 loss on the road against No. 16 Iowa State to begin the week. The Bulldogs recorded their first loss of the season as the Cyclones dominated in the first half with a 53-35 scoring advantage to set the tone of the game. Three players finished in double figures for Mississippi State to help cut into its deficit as Josh Hubbard posted 25 points with five assists to lead the charge.

Hubbard, an All-SEC Second Team performer last season, currently leads the Bulldogs with 26.0 points and 6.5 assists per game. The junior has recorded 25+ points in his last two matchups this season, while Mississippi State also heavily relies on Ja'borri McGhee averaging 10.0 points per game and 2.0 steals. Shawn Jones Jr (9.0 ppg) and Achor Achor (5.5 ppg) handle the majority of the rebounding battle for the Bulldogs, snagging a combined 15.5 rebounds per game.

Concluding Saturday's game, the Lions will return to Hammond, America Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. in the University Center for their first home game of the 2025-26 season. Wednesday's game against William Carey will be streamed on ESPN+.
