HAMMOND, La. – The No. 21/23 Southeastern Louisiana University football team will close out its 2025 regular season road schedule with a 2 p.m. game at UIW Saturday at Benson Stadium.

The game between SLU (7-3, 5-1 SLC) and the host Cardinals (4-6, 2-4 SLC) will be televised on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM, The Boss 97.7 FM/WFPR 1400 AM).

Southeastern had its five-game winning streak snapped Saturday with a 14-12 loss at then-No. 18/20 Lamar. SLU limited the Cardinals to 255 total yards, but could only counter with 292 total yards - 236 rushing, 56 passing - in the defensive struggle.

The Lion offense is averaging 35.2 points per game - including 42.8 points per contest versus FCS opponents. Carson Camp (97-for-149, 1,369 passing yards, 11 TD, 4 INT) and Kyle Lowe (57-for-88, 723 yards, 7 TD, 3 INT) continue to split quarterbacking duties for SLU with Jaylon Domingeaux (35 catches, 673 yards, 8 TD) serving as Camp and Lowe's top target in the passing game.

Fresh off a career-high 146 rushing yards, Deantre Jackson rushed for 455 yards and seven touchdowns. Calvin Smith Jr. (376 yards, 5 TD), Lowe (364-4 TD) and Jaedon Henry (268-4 TD) are the other top rushers for the Lions.

Southeastern is 13th nationally in scoring offense, allowing 18.0 points per game - including just 12.5 points per contest versus FCS foes. After posting a career-high 16 tackles at LU, KK Reno leads the team and is 17th in Division I with 93 tackles. Jirrea Johnson Jr. (45), Jakyri Jones (45), Khamron Ford (41) and Ian Conerly-Goodly (36) are the other top tacklers for the Lions.

Kaleb Proctor leads the Southland Conference with seven sacks from his defensive tackle position. Behind Proctor (10.5 TFL) and Joshua Randall (4.5 sacks, 7.5 TFL), Southeastern is 10th nationally in both sacks and tackles for loss.

SLU is also ninth in FCS in passing defense. Conerly-Goodly leads the team with three interceptions and Zach Johnson has a team-high eight pass breakups.

Southeastern continues to feature the most dynamic return tandem in FCS, as Brandon Hayes is third nationally with 33.1 yards per kickoff return, while Dkhai Joseph's 16.1 yards per punt return is good for seventh. Both Hayes and Joseph have two return touchdowns this fall.

UIW enters its home finale Saturday having won two straight after starting conference play 0-4. The Cardinals were too much for Northwestern State in a 38-3 road win last Saturday.

Quarterback EJ Colson leads a Cardinal offense that is averaging 27.0 points per game. Colson has thrown for 1,984 yards and 16 touchdowns versus just four interceptions since taking over under center with All-American Jalen Walthall (57 catches, 688 yards, 7 TD) serving as the most productive weapon in the passing game. Jaylon Spears (381 yards, 4 TD) leads a group of four Cardinal runners with over 200 rushing yards and multiple rushing touchdowns.

Opponents are averaging 28.6 points per game versus the UIW defense. Declan Williams leads the way for the Cardinals with 84 tackles and 11 tackles for loss.
