HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University football team sits at No. 21 in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll and No. 23 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Monday.
Southeastern (7-3, 5-1 SLC) had its five-game winning streak snapped last Saturday at then-No. 18/20 Lamar. The Cardinals edged the Lions, 14-12, in a defensive struggle, handing SLU its first conference and FCS loss of the fall.
Southeastern, Lamar and SFA are all representing the Southland Conference in both polls. LU is No. 14 in the AFCA Coaches Top 25, while ranking No. 19 in the Stats Perform poll. The Lumberjacks are up to No. 15 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 and sit at No. 17 in the coaches poll. SLC foe UTRGV is also receiving votes in the coaches poll.
Southeastern will close out its regular season road slate Saturday with a 2 p.m. contest at UIW. The game will be televised on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM, The Boss 97.7 FM/WFPR 1400 AM).
