Southeastern Extends Win Streak with 3-0 Victory over New Orleans

Logarbo's season-high 15 kills key fifth straight sweep for SLU (18-6, 10-2 SLC)

Box Score

HAMMOND, La. – The two-time reigning Southland Conference regular season champion Southeastern Louisiana University indoor volleyball team earned its second sweep in as many matches over league foe New Orleans Thursday, topping the Privateers, 25-11, 25-18, 26-24, in the University Center.

Southeastern (18-6, 10-2 SLC) hit .340 on the way to its second win over UNO (7-18, 2-10 SLC) of the week. SLU earned a 25-15, 25-18, 25-23 win over its in-state and league rivals Tuesday in New Orleans.

The victory was the fifth straight sweep for the Lady Lions and ran their 2025 home record to 10-0. Alexis Logarbo led SLU with a season-high 15 kills – one off her career-high – and reigning SLC Offensive Player of the Week Kyra McKelvey added 13 kills and finished with a .733 hitting percentage to continue her torrid stretch.

Honored before the match for reaching 1,000 career assists, the Southeastern setter duo of Peyton Stokley and Ashley Richardson posted 21 and 19 assists, respectively, to engineer the efficient SLU attack.

The Lady Lions held UNO to a .117 hitting percentage for the match, as McKelvey and India Bennett shared team-high honors with three blocks each. Audrey Vielguth paced Southeastern with 13 digs, while Mina Petrovic added nine of her own.

Alessandra Meoni and Vanae Sapp finished with eight kills apiece to lead New Orleans. Define Eciroglu led the Privateers with 13 assists.

The Lady Lions came out on fire in the opening set, hitting .714 to take a 1-0 lead. Petrovic, Logarbo, McKelvey and Bennett had two kills apiece in a dominant opening set.

The second set was more competitive, but the trio of McKelvey (six kills), Logarbo (five kills) and Bennett (five kills) powered SLU to a two-set lead, while Petrovic had eight digs in the second set.

New Orleans did its best to extend the match in a back-and-forth third set that featured 13 ties and five lead changes. Logarbo broke a 24-24 tie with a kill, then a UNO error on match point ended it for the hosts.
