HAMMOND, La. – Fresh off a 4-0 road trip, the Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team returns to Hammond, America to start a four-game homestand with Incarnate Word and Houston Christian coming to the University Center on Saturday and Monday, respectively.
 
Southeastern (11-8, 5-3 SLC) will take on Incarnate Word (9-10, 2-6 SLC) at 3:30 p.m. Saturday while Monday's game against Houston Christian (8-11, 5-3 SLC) is currently scheduled for 7:30 p.m. with both games following an earlier women's contest in the University Center.
 
Saturday's game will be the David Kiefer Basketball Camp Reunion Game, where all campers from last year's basketball camps are invited to attend and be part of the game festivities, including being part of the pregame run-out tunnel and be recognized at halftime. Monday will be Faculty/Staff Night, where all SLU faculty and staff will get free admission and will be recognized during the contest.
 
Both games will be televised on ESPN+ while a radio broadcast will be available for both, thanks to the Southeastern Sports Radio Network, on 90.9 FM The Lion in the Hammond/Ponchatoula area and worldwide on LionSports.net/ListenLive or LionUpRadio.org, or you can listen to the game on smart devices through the Lions Gameday Experience app or the MyTuner Radio app. Live stats will also be available on LionSports.net.
 
The Lions are riding a five-game win streak, having picked up its fifth-straight win Monday with a 76-68 win at East Texas A&M. Sam Hines, Jr. led Southeastern with 23 points to go with seven rebounds in the win at ETAMU. Jakevion Buckley ended the day in Commerce with 19 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Brody Rowbury had his first double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds, hitting 11 of his 12 free throw attempts while tying a career high with a pair of blocked shots.
 
Hines, Jr. continues to be the main scoring threat for the Lions, averaging 16.1 points on 51.1 percent shooting and 45.2 percent from beyond the arc. He's also the squad's top rebounder at 6.6 boards each time out.
 
Buckley puts in 13.3 points per game while hitting 48.4 percent of his shot attempts. He's the top assist-giver, averaging 4.1 dimes, and thief, averaging two steals a contest.
 
Jeremy Elyzee is at 9.8 points per game, hitting 47.8 percent from the field, while grabbing five rebounds a contest. He's the team's shot blocker with 13 on the season.
 
Kam Burton is SLU's top three-point threat, averaging 7.9 points per game on 40.9 percent shooting and 39.4 percent from three-point range, having hit a team-high 37 shots from beyond the arc this season.
 
Coming off of his double-double at ETAMU, Rowbury is now averaging 7.8 points and 5.2 rebounds a game. He's hitting 51.1 percent from the field and is an 84.6 percent free throw shooter this year.
 
Southeastern averages 71.8 points per game this season, hitting 44.9 percent from the field and 33.2 percent from beyond the arc. Lion opponents score 68.6 points per game while hitting 42.4 percent overall and 29.9 percent from three-point distance.
 
Incarnate Word comes into the University Center on Saturday looking to end a five-game losing streak, four of which have been decided by seven points or less. The Cardinals dropped their last contest by an 85-78 score to Texas-Rio Grande Valley on Monday.
 
In the loss to the Vaqueros, the Cardinals allowed UTRGV to score on 69.8 of their shot attempts and accrue 62 points in the paint. UIW was hitting from outside on Monday, connecting on 10 three-pointers against UTRGV while hitting 48.5 percent from the field and 47.6 percent from beyond the arc.
 
UIW was led by Davion Bailey, who hit 11 shots on Monday, five of which were from deep. He finished with 28 points in the contest. Jalin Anderson scored 18 points against the Vaqueros while giving out six assists with four rebounds. In his first game coming off the bench this season, Dylan Hayman responded with 14 points and eight rebounds. Jordan Pyke rounded out the leading scorers from Monday with 11 points.
 
Bailey is UIW's top scorer at 18 points per game on 46.4 percent shooting and 42.4 percent from beyond the arc while hitting a team-best 70 three-pointers on the season. He leads the team in steals with 26 on the year while grabbing three rebounds each time out.
 
Hayman scores 14 points per contest, hitting 53.1 percent from the field and 48.3 percent from deep while grabbing 5.2 rebounds a game.
 
Anderson puts in 13.1 points per game, hitting 38.6 percent overall and 30.9 percent from deep. He's the top distributor, gathering 5.5 assists per game.
 
Pyke scores 11.8 points each time out while securing a team-high 5.7 rebounds a contest. He hits 60.4 percent of his shots and is a 50 percent three-point shooter.
 
Jayden Williams scores 5.6 points on 66.7 percent shooting and grabs 5.1 rebounds a game, but will make his presence felt as a shot blocker, blocking 1.7 opposing shots per game.
 
The Cardinals average 76.8 points per game while hitting 48.4 percent of its shot attempts, including 39 percent from three-point range. UIW's opponents average 70 points per game while hitting 44.4 percent from the field and 36 percent from beyond the arc this season.
 
Houston Christian enters its game Saturday at New Orleans on a high after finishing a four-game homestand with a 3-1 record, including an impressive 76-72 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Monday evening.
 
Julian Mackey led the Huskies in the win over A&M-Corpus Christi with 19 points, including three made three-pointers, three rebounds, and three blocked shots. Elijah Brooks had 16 points in the win over the Islanders while Trent Johnson ended the day with 13 points and D'Aundre Samuels scored 12 points off the bench for the Huskies.
 
Mackey is HCU's leading scorer, averaging 15.2 points per game on 42.3 percent shooting and 37.1 percent from three-point range, having hit 43 shots from beyond the arc.
 
Bryson Dawkins averages 11.9 points per game on 39 percent shooting. He's HCU's top rebounder at 4.6 boards per game.
 
Brooks scores 9.5 points on 47.5 percent shooting while serving as the Huskies' top distributor at 2.2 assists per game.
 
Peyton Rogers leads HCU with 16 total blocks on the year while scoring 3.8 points and grabbing 5.4 rebounds a game.
 
The Huskies average 67.2 points per game while hitting 41.7 percent from the field and 30.8 percent from above the arc. HCU's opponents average 70.7 points per game while hitting on 47.8 percent from the field and 32 percent from three-point range.
 
SLU's four-game homestand concludes next weekend with the return game against New Orleans and then the only meeting of the season with Lamar.
