HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana senior
Hannah McCord was named to the All-Academic First Team by the conference Tuesday morning after an exceptional season on the field and excellence in the classroom.
Hannah McCord was the lone Lady Lion to represent Southeastern for first team honors. McCord finished the 2024 season with a 4.00 grade point average in Applied Science as a graduate student. The San Francisco, California native was the leading scorer for the Lady Lions with four goals and two assists to total ten points. McCord attempted 12 shots this season with six shots on goal for two game winners versus McNeese and UIW.
McCord closed out her career at Southeastern as a leader on and off the field in her two seasons with the green and gold. This season, the midfielder also earned SLC All-Conference (Second Team) and SLC Offensive Player of the Week (10/8/24).
To be eligible for all-academic distinction, an athlete must hold a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average through the semester prior to the sport's championship, completed at least one full academic year at the nominating school prior to the current season, and participated in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions during the most recently completed season.
McCord was selected among the conference's highest in academic standing in her final season with SLU.
