Lady Lions Begin Four-Game Road Swing

Southeastern travels to Jackson, Miss. for its first road game of the season. The match orginally scheduled for Friday against the Tigers will be Saturday, August 31 at 3 p.m.

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team, due to a change in schedule, will take on Jackson State Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the JSU Soccer Field.

The match, originally scheduled for Friday, between Southeastern (0-1-1) and Jackson State (0-1-1) will be streamed on the JSU Sports Network (paid subscription required). Live stats, provided by the host, can be accessed on the women's soccer schedule page at www.LionSports.net.

Southeastern fell 2-1 to South Alabama last weekend to close out its last non conference home match. Senior Nicole O'Neill gained her first goal of the season against the Jaguars.

The Lady Lions are embarking on their first road match of the season, seeking to capture their first win. SLU has taken 13 shots this season with eight shots on goal. Southeastern has heavily relied on its defense that has limited opponents' shots on goal to 47.0 percent. Kendall Curan and Anna Blakenship have split responsibilities around the net and enter Saturday's match with seven saves combined.

Jackson State also suffered its first loss against conference rival McNeese last weekend. Karime Antonio Lopez, Kyla Gomez and Kendyl Terrell have each contributed a goal this season for the Tigers. Senior Jordan Hamilton is the goalkeeper for Jackson State and has 2.00 goals against average heading into Saturday's match.

Following Saturday's match, SLU will travel to Coral Gables, Fla. to face Miami Thursday, Sept. 5 at 5 p.m. Thursday's match will be aired on the ACC Network and live stats will be available on the women's soccer schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
