SLU Travels to UIW for Conference Series

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team heads to San Antonio, Texas this weekend for a Southland Conference series at UIW. Games are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday at Sullivan Field sponsored by HEB.
 
All three games of the series between Southeastern (23-24, 5-13 SLC) and the Cardinals (24-23, 9-9 SLC) are slated for coverage on ESPN+.
 
Fans can listen to the games in the Hammond area on 90.9 The Lion. In addition, an audio stream is available online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via the Lions Gameday Experience, TuneIn and MyTuner Radio apps. Both the TuneIn and MyTuner apps are compatible with the Apple CarPlay software available in most late-model automobiles. Search for KSLU 90.9 FM in the TuneIn app.
 
Southeastern returns to action following exam week, winning one of three this past weekend at home against New Orleans.
 
The Lions, hitting at a .274 clip as a team, are led at the plate by TJ Salvaggio (.317-12-36), Shea Thomas (.309-8-34) and Ryan Brome (.286-3-23).
 
UIW is hitting .296 collectively with Dalton Beck (.387-14-57), Cameron Caley (.354-8-40) and Ryan Scott (.342-6-28) leading the way at the plate.
 
The Cardinals dropped their last game, a non-conference contest Tuesday at Abilene Christian.
 
Southeastern enters the weekend in ninth place in the Southland standings, one game behind eighth-place Houston Christian and 2.5 games in back of seventh-place Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Cardinals sit in fourth place, five games in back of first-place Lamar and four games ahead of the Lions.
 
The top eight teams in the conference standings qualify for the Southland's postseason tournament. The 2024 North Oaks Health System Southland Conference Baseball Championship is set to be held, May 22-25, at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field in Hammond.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern returns home for the final four games of the 2024 regular season. The Lions kick off the homestand at 6 p.m. Tuesday, hosting South Alabama in their final non-conference action for $2 Tuesday at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. General admission tickets, purchased at the ballpark, and hot dogs are both $2 while kids (12 & under) will have the opportunity to stand next to their favorite SLU player during the National Anthem.
 
It's also Jimmy Buffett Night. Fans are encouraged to wear their best Hawaiian shirt and enjoy the laid-back vibes at the ballpark.
 
DIAMOND CLUB / S CLUB
Fans interested in becoming active supporters of the baseball program are encouraged to join the Diamond Club. Lion baseball alums are encouraged to join the exclusive S Club, which is restricted to Southeastern athletic letter winners.
