80’s Night, Super Lion Saturday Highlight SLU Baseball Weekend

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team returns to action this weekend, hosting North Dakota State in a three-game series at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
 
Games between Southeastern (9-5) and the Bison (2-9) are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. All three games are slated for coverage on ESPN+.
 
Fans can listen to the game broadcast in the Hammond area on 90.9 The Lion. In addition, an audio stream is available online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via the Lions Gameday Experience, TuneIn and MyTuner Radio apps. Both the TuneIn and MyTuner apps are compatible with the Apple CarPlay software available in most late-model automobiles. Search for KSLU 90.9 FM in the TuneIn app.
 
Friday's game kicks off Throwback Weekend with an 80's Night at the ballpark.
 
Super Lion Saturday features a koozie giveaway for the first 200 fans at baseball. Also, in action throughout the day on campus will be the SLU beach volleyball, softball and football teams. In addition, Northshore Media Group will host a special remote broadcast outside Strawberry Stadium on Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7/WFPR 1400 AM from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
 
A pair of weekly promotions are also on tap for the series. This season, Saturday games will feature Baseball Bingo and free general admission tickets are available each Sunday home game for active military members by presenting a valid service ID at the gate.
 
Southeastern is coming off a 4-3 loss at home to No. 2-ranked LSU.
 
Jude Hall (.412), Shea Thomas (.306) and TJ Salvaggio (.267) are the Lions' leading hitters. Hall's four home runs and 13 RBIs lead the team.
 
Right-hander Brennan Stuprich (1-1, 1.13) draws the starting nod for the Lions in the series opener. The redshirt junior from Kenner, Louisiana will be opposed by NDSU redshirt sophomore left-hander Nolan Johnson (0-0, 3.00).
 
Saturday's pitching matchup features redshirt junior right-hander RHP Dakota Lee (0-1, 2.45) for SLU and junior right-hander Logan Knight (0-2, 7.11) for the Bison.
 
Will Kinzeler (1-0, 10.12), a senior right-hander from Covington, Louisiana, earns the start on the mound in the series finale. He will be opposed by NDSU freshman right-hander Landon Koenig (0-2, 10.32).
 
The Bison dropped all four games in a weekend series at No. 6-ranked Oregon State last weekend in Corvallis, Oregon.
 
Colton Becker (.382), Jake Schaffner (.345) and Sam Canton (.282) pace NDSU at the plate. Becker leads the squad with six extra-base hits and Canton owns a team-high 9 RBIs.
 
UP NEXT
SLU continues on its 10-game homestand, hosting Tulane (9-4) at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. It will be Country Night at the ballpark along with the weekly $2 Tuesday promotion feature $2 general admission tickets and $2 hot dogs at the concession stand. Kids can also stand on the field next to their favorite Lion during the National Anthem.
 
TICKET & PARKING INFORMATION
Single-game tickets are now on sale. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to minimize ticket lines on game days. Southeastern students are encouraged to contact the ticket office before the game to reserve theirs in advance.
 
General admission tickets for most games are $11 for adults and $8 for youth (ages 3-12). Southeastern students, with a university ID, and children under age 2 are admitted for free. Gameday parking is $5 per day for standard vehicles and $25 for RVs.
 
Tickets can be purchased online at www.LionSports.net/Tickets or by contacting the Southeastern Athletics Ticket Office at (985) 549-5466. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. The ticket booth at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field opens exactly one hour before the scheduled first pitch.

Southeastern uses mobile ticketing as the primary method for distributing tickets purchased online. Tickets will be available via text message or email in a PDF format for fans to download on their phone or print at home. Tickets can also be downloaded to Apple Wallet.

Fans interested in becoming active supporters of the baseball program are encouraged to join the Diamond Club. Lion baseball alums are encouraged to join the exclusive S Club, which is restricted to Southeastern athletic letter winners.
 
All membership fees and donations to both the Diamond Club and S Club (baseball) are available for the exclusive use of the Southeastern baseball program.
