HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball program travels to Birmingham, Alabama for a three-game series against UAB at Young Memorial Field. Games are slated for 2 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
 
Both the series opener and finale will be carried on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network in addition to ESPN+. Coverage of Saturday's contest will be limited to live stats and Twitter updates.
 
Fans can listen to the Friday and Sunday's games in the Hammond area on 90.9 The Lion. In addition, an audio stream is available online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via the Lions Gameday Experience, TuneIn and MyTuner Radio apps. Southeastern (2-2) and UAB (2-2) square off in the second half of a home-and-home series that began during the 2022 season. The Blazers took two of the three games played in Hammond. UAB leads the all-time series, 3-2. This weekend's games mark the first time the series will be contested in Birmingham.
 
The Lions are looking to bounce back from an 8-1 setback Wednesday at South Alabama in their first midweek contest of the season.
 
Jude Hall (.500), Shea Thomas (.333) and Parker Coley (.250) are Southeastern's leading hitters. Hall, Thomas and Gray Rowlett have each homered while Coley owns a team-high three RBIs.
 
Right-hander Brennan Stuprich (0-0, 6.00) draws the starting nod for the Lions in the series opener. The redshirt junior from Kenner, Louisiana will be opposed by UAB senior right-hander Blayze Berry (0-0, 0.00).
 
Saturday's pitching matchup features redshirt junior right-hander Dakota Lee (0-0, 0.00) for SLU and sophomore left-hander Issac Warrick (0-0, 6.75) for the Blazers.
 
Will Kinzeler (1-0, 1.50), a senior right-hander from Covington, Louisiana, earns the start on the mound in the series finale. He will be opposed by UAB sophomore right-hander Colin Daniel (1-0, 0.00).
 
Jake Smallwood (.500) and Logan Braunschweig (.294) are the Blazers' leading hitters. Brayton Brown, Darryl Buggs and Alan Choo have each homered. Braunschweig, Brown and Choo have driven in three runs apiece.
 
UAB, which took the final two games in its season-opening series with Kennesaw State, is coming off a 7-2 loss Tuesday at No. 20-ranked Auburn.
 
UP NEXT
SLU returns home to Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field for a pair of midweek contests. The Lions host Xavier of Louisiana at 6 p.m. Tuesday and Mississippi Valley State at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The first 100 Southeastern students in attendance at each game will receive a ticket to the upcoming March 6 home game against No. 2-ranked LSU.
