HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team, winners of a season-best five-straight games and six of the last seven, come home looking to continue its run of success as Houston Christian and Lamar come to Hammond, America this weekend.

Southeastern (12-13, 7-5 SLC) will take on HCU (6-17, 4-8 SLC) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, a game which is being sponsored by Tangi Tourism and will serve as the Family and Alumni Day in Hammond, while Monday's game against Lamar (13-11, 7-4 SLC) is set to start at 6 p.m. with both contests taking part in the Pride Roofing University Center. Both games will be live streamed on ESPN+ while Monday's game will also have a radio broadcast, thanks to the Southeastern Sports Radio Netword on 90.9 FM The Lion in the Hammond/Ponchatoula area, worldwide at LionSports.net/ListenLive and LionUpRadio.org, or on the smart device on the Lions Gameday Experience app, the TuneIn Radio app, or the MyTuner Radio app. Live stats will also be available for both games at LionSports.net.

The Lions have won five-straight games, marking the longest win streak of the season. They had to work five extra minutes to earn the fifth-straight victory as Nick Caldwell hit a pair of free throws late to force overtime and then Roger McFarlane's turnaround floater with three seconds left in the extra period lifted Southeastern to a 79-77 triumph over Texas A&M-Commerce on Monday night at the Hunt Regional Healthcare Court at the Field House.

Caldwell scored his first double-double of the season in Monday's win over the A&M-Commerce Lions, scoring 22 points while grabbing 10 rebounds, while also tying his career high as he blocked five TAMUC shots on Monday night. His free throws with eight seconds left tied the score at 66-66, eventually forcing the overtime period. Monday's game was his 146th career game played while at SLU, continuing to extend his program record for appearances.

McFarlane's game-winning shot with three seconds left in overtime was the final two of his 16 points of the night. He completed his second-straight double-double and eighth of the season by also grabbing 15 rebounds, which tied his career high in that category as well. He added three assists and a block in the win over A&M-Commerce.

Roscoe Eastmond showed his scoring prowess early on Monday night, scoring 10 points within the opening 10 minutes, then settled in as the best distributor in the Southland, finishing the game with 13 points and eight assists. Following Monday's game, he now has 152 assists on the season, fifth-most in a single season at SLU, while his 314 career assists in the green and gold is the eighth-most in program history.

Brody Rowbury fought through early foul trouble and came alive in the second half to finish with 12 points and nine rebounds in Monday's win while also coming up with a couple blocks as well as a pair of assists.

Caldwell has now taken over as the team's top scorer, now averaging 14.9 points per game on 55.5% shooting and 41.7% from beyond the three-point arc. He also grabs 5.1 rebounds a game and leads the team in blocks at 0.9 a contest.

McFarlane is still hovering around the team-lead in scoring average, having raised his average to 14.7 points per game while hitting 41.9% from the field and 34.8% from deep while continuing to lead the team in rebounding, averaging 8.4 boards a game.

On Saturday, SLU will be looking to complete a second-straight season sweep of the Huskies after the Lions went to Houston and defeated HCU 80-58 late last month, starting Southeastern's current five-game win streak. Houston Christian has lost five of its last six, a run which included the season's first meeting with the Lions. In their last contest, the Huskies struggled through a 105-54 home defeat at the hands of McNeese on Monday night.

Marcus Greene and Dominic Capriotti were the lone Huskies to hit double figures in scoring in Monday's contest against the Cowboys as both finished with 15 points. Greene hit three three-pointers on Monday while Capriotti hit three shots total, two from deep, and was seven-of-eight at the free throw line against McNeese.

Jay Alvarez leads HCU in scoring, averaging 15.5 points per game on the season while hitting 43.1% shooting and 17.5% from three.

Greene is second in scoring for the Huskies, averaging 14.3 points on 45.2% shooting which includes 41.9% from three. He's also the top assist-getter for HCU, averaging 2.9 assists a game.

Michael Imariagbe is the final HCU player averaging double digits in scoring, putting in 11.7 points per contest while also leading the Huskies in rebounding and blocks, grabbing 8.6 boards a game and swatting 1.1 opposing shots each time out. He hits 54.9% of his field goal attempts on the year.

Bonke Maring, a preseason All-Conference member, puts in 9.6 points on 46.1% shooting while grabbing 7.1 rebounds a contest.

HCU averages 70.5 points per contest, hitting 42.8% from the field as a team and 29.3% on three-point attempts as a team. Husky opponents average 82.6 points per game while hitting on 46.6% of shot attempts and 32.6% from beyond the three-point arc for the season.

The Lions have won four-straight against HCU, taken five of the last six, and eight of the last 10. SLU leads the all-time series against the Huskies 12-7.

Southeastern will be looking to earn a season split on Monday when Lamar comes to town for the middle game of the homestand. The Cardinals knocked off the Lions 74-64 in Beaumont last month. Lamar is 2-2 since defeating SLU, having won both of their home games but dropping both of their road contests since. Lamar heads to the Crescent City to play New Orleans on Saturday before coming to Hammond.

The Cardinals enter the weekend coming off perhaps their toughest defeat so far this season, a 76-67 loss at Incarnate Word on Monday to the Southland's other set of Cardinals.

Terry Anderson was the only starter to reach double figures in scoring on Monday at UIW, ending the night with 22 points as he hit eight of his 14 shot attempts, including one-of-three from deep, and five-of-six at the free throw line before fouling out. He also grabbed four rebounds, dished out three assists, came up with two steals, and blocked a shot.

Errol White and Janko Bulajic both came off the bench to finish the night with 10 points on Monday with White adding a team-high nine rebounds to go with his five-of-eight shooting. Bulajic connected on three of his four shot attempts and was four-of-six at the charity stripe while also grabbing six rebounds and dished out two assists.

Anderson is Lamar's leading scorer, averaging 12.2 points per game on 49% shooting and 31.3% from three on the season. He also grabs 5.9 rebounds a game and picks up 2.5 assists a game with 1.5 steals a game and 0.8 blocks a game.

Chris Pryor puts in 11.5 points per game 44.4% shooting and 39.4% from three while leading the Cardinals in both assists, with 3.4 helpers per game, and steals, 1.6 thefts each time out.

B.B. Knight is on Pryor's tail in the scoring column, averaging 11.4 points per game on 42.9% shooting while hitting 39.5% from three.

Adam Hamilton is the final top scorer for the Cardinals, averaging 10.7 points per game on 53.1% shooting. He leads the team on the glass, averaging 6.6 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per contest.

Lamar averages 80.1 points per game on 45.2% shooting while hitting 36.5% from three on the year. Cardinals' foes score 74.9 points per game on the season while hitting 42% from the field and 34.6% from three-point range this season.

The Cardinals lead the all-time series against the Lions, 28-25. As the weekend begins, with three and a half weeks remaining in the regular season, Lamar is currently tied with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for third place in the Southland Conference standings, both just one game back of Nicholls for the second-seed and a potential double-bye into the semifinals of the SLC Tournament. SLU sits just a half-game behind those two in fifth place, looking to take over one of the spots which would allow the Lions to bypass the first round of the SLC Tournament and go straight into the quarterfinal round.
