FRISCO, Texas – The reigning, two-time Southland Conference Champion Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team made it back-to-back SLC weekly honors with Cicily Hidalgo being named the Conference's Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
 
Hidalgo's award is the fourth weekly award earned by Southeastern this season, and second time the Lady Lions have gone back-to-back. Keira Beverly won the Defensive Player of the Week award on Sept. 9 and Sept. 16 while Kyra McKelvey won the Offensive Player of the Week award last week. This is also Hidalgo's fourth-career SLC Offensive Player of the Week award and first since Aug. 29, 2022.
 
The senior outside hitter from Opelousas, La. averaged 4.93 points per set as Southeastern (22-4, 14-0 SLC) defeated both Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas-Rio Grande Valley during the week, clinching a second-straight Southland regular season championship, the second SLC season title in program history. Hidalgo tallied 4.14 kills per set and had a .329 attack percentage in the two matches. She also had a pair of service aces and seven total blocks. She also had double-doubles in both matches, her 13^th and 14^th double-doubles of the season.
 
Hidalgo started her week with 15 kills on a .452 attack percentage with two aces, two block assists, and 12 digs in Thursday's straight-sets win against the Islanders. She followed that up on Saturday with 14 kills on a .238 attack percentage, five block assists, and 15 digs as SLU clinched the SLC regular season championship with a four-set win over the Vaqueros.
 
The Lady Lions head on the road for the final two games of the regular season, looking for a win in one of them to claim the SLC regular season title outright. Southeastern's first attempt at clinching the outright title is Thursday night against East Texas A&M. Opening serve of Thursday's match against the Southland's other Lions (9-17, 6-8 SLC) is set for 6:30 p.m. in The Field House. The match will be televised on ESPN+ with live stats also available through the host institution.
