HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team will end its preseason preparations and host Louisiana Christian for an exhibition Friday evening at 6 p.m. in the University Center.

Reigning Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year
Jalencia Pierre (8.4 ppg) is one of three returning starters from last season, along with
Taylor Bell (9.8 ppg) and
Cheyanne Daniels (8.6 ppg). The Lady Lions are also returning seven other familiar faces for this upcoming season, including senior guard
Alexius Horne returning from injury last season. Southeastern will heavily rely on its experience and strength in numbers for this upcoming season.
SLU has also brought in five newcomers to add to its production in the paint and out on the perimeter.

Tyreona Sibley,
Mo'Nique Joseph and
Jaslynn Walter are the new additions to complete this star-studded roster as the Lady Lions have reloaded in every position.
Louisiana Christian is returning its leading scorer from last season in Princis Goff who averaged 18.5 points per game, 7.6 rebounds and 2.5 steals per contest. Goff recorded a career high 34 points versus Texas A&M Texarkana last season and finished with 25 games in double figures. The Wildcats are also returning junior Deja Tanks who contributed 9.0 points per game and led the team with 9.7 rebounds last season. Louisiana Christian finished its 2023-24 season 11-16 overall and 8-14 in league play.
Following Friday's exhibition, Southeastern will officially open the 2024-25 season Monday evening at 5:30 p.m. against Millsaps in the University Center. Fans are encouraged to come out and support Lion Slam as we celebrate the start of a new season. Monday's game will be televised on ESPN+.
