HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team will return to action for a pair of conference matches in Strawberry Stadium.
SLU begins the week Friday with a 7 p.m. match against new conference member UTRGV. The match between Southeastern (6-7-1, 5-3 SLC) and UTRGV (7-4-4, 3-1-3 SLC) will be streamed on ESPN+.
Southeastern will face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (6-4-5, 3-2-2 SLC) to close out its conference schedule in a 1 p.m. match Sunday afternoon for Senior Day. Sunday's match will be televised on ESPN+. Live stats for both matches can be accessed on the women's soccer schedule page at

The Lady Lions are seeking to bounce back after falling 3-0 to HCU on the road this past weekend. Southeastern fell into an early behind early and could not cut into the deficit against the Huskies. HCU gained a 16-1 advantage in shots over Southeastern to close out the contest.
Kendall Curran finished the match with five saves for SLU in the net.
UTRGV extended its two-game winning streak with a 2-1 victory over Nicholls at home last weekend. Savannah Frisby and Abbie Bailey connected in the net against the Colonels to secure the win. The Vaqueros are led by Frisby with six goals, one assist and 13 points this season. Bailey, Jordan Matthews, and Lisa Elowsson have also each contributed three goals this season as UTRGV stands fifth in SLC standings. UTRGV has taken 201 shots, connected on 21 goals and recorded 92 shots on goal. Heiddis Sigurdardottir handles the majority of the weight in the net for the Vaqueros with 26 saves and 0.87 goals against average.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi finished 1-0 last weekend after defeating UIW to snap its two-game losing streak. Senior Morgan Westbury found the net for the fifth time this season to gain the win for the Islanders. Westbury leads the Islanders in scoring alongside Rachel Loetzer and Alisa Divano who led the team with three assists. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has claimed 183 shots, 19 goals and 83 shots on goal. Zoe Theriot spends the majority of the time in the net for the Islanders, playing 1, 291 minutes with 72 saves.
For Friday's match versus UTRGV, the Lady Lions welcome all former players back to the pitch to celebrate its Alumni Game in Strawberry Stadium. All former players will be recognized during halftime of Friday's contest. Nine seniors will be honored Sunday and welcomed as the newest members of the S Club. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the presentation.
