HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team will return to action Sunday when it returns home to host the University of Incarnate Word a 1 p.m. match at Strawberry Stadium.
The game between Southeastern (2-6, 0-1) and UIW (3-3-1, 0-1) will be televised on ESPN+. Live stats can be accessed on the women's soccer schedule page at
www.LionSports.net. The first 50 students through the gate will receive a custom SLU soccer scarf.
Southeastern dropped 0-1 in its first conference game Sunday against Northwestern State on the road.
The Lady Lions have launched six goals through the net throughout the season.
Kelsey Fuller and
Mya Guillory each lead the team with a pair of goals.
Olivia Griffin has held majority of the work in goal for Southeastern and enters Sunday's match with 29 saves.
UIW also lost its first conference match this past weekend. Sierra Wannamaker, Eve Clarkson and Bailey Moyer each had a goal on target for the Cardinals. UIW enters the match with 11 total goals this season. Erica Defferding and Mackenzie Hall have split time in goal for UIW and have a 0.57 goals against average going into Sunday's match.
Following Sunday's match, Southeastern will remain at home. The Lady Lions will take on Texas A&M-Commerce for a 7 p.m. match Sept. 29.
