HAMMOND, La. – The reigning Southland Conference champion Southeastern Louisiana University football team opens its 2023 home schedule in just over six weeks and fans can purchase tickets online now.
 
Tickets can be purchased online at https://vivenu.com/event/2023-football-2klkar. Fans can also contact the Southeastern Athletics Ticket Office at (985) 549-5466 or visit the office, located on the southwest corner of Strawberry Stadium.
 
SLU opens its home schedule Sept. 23, welcoming SLC foe HCU to Hammond. The Lions will also welcome nonconference opponent Tarleton State Sept. 30, while receiving visits from league rivals Lamar (Oct. 14), McNeese (Nov. 4) and Nicholls (Nov. 16).
 
Southeastern won its third Southland Conference title and first since 2014 last fall, advancing to the second round of the NCAA FCS playoffs for the third time in the past four seasons. SLU is one of three schools nationally to be ranked in the final top 25 in each of the past four seasons.
 
The Lions close out the opening week of fall camp Saturday with its fourth and final day of split-squad workouts. The first group takes the field at 9 a.m. with the second group at 10:30 a.m.
 
Southeastern opens the 2023 season with three straight nonconference road contests, beginning with a Sept. 2 trip to Mississippi State. The game versus the Bulldogs kicks off at 3 p.m. in Starkville, Mississippi and will be televised on SEC Network and can be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM, The Boss 103.7 FM/WFPR 1400 AM).
