Cheyanne Daniels Added to Southeastern's Roster
Hammond, La. – The Southland Conference Champion Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team added a new Lady Lion for the 2023-2024 season.
Cheyanne Daniels, a sophomore transfer from Shawnee Community College and native of Miami, Florida, signed with Southeastern this past week. Head Coach
Ayla Guzzardo is excited to see what the six-foot-four Forward will bring to the hardwood.
"She is a great rebounder and shot blocker and can easily score around the rim. She has a great touch around the paint and can step out and shoot the 3-ball." Guzzardo commented.
Daniels played in 25 games last season, averaging 16.4 points and 10.8 rebounds a game. She was 58 percent from the floor and 73 percent from the charity stripe.
"Chey is a massive addition to our program, bringing experience and size to our post presence. Coming off a great defensive season, Chey will pick up where our posts last year left off." Guzzardo said.
While at Shawnee Community College, Daniels had a season high of 28 points versus John A. Logan Feb. 4 and another season high in rebounds with 21 total rebounds versus Dyersburg State Nov. 22.
