HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team returns to Southland Conference action this weekend with a three-game series against Nicholls at Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
 
Games between Southeastern (19-22, 4-11 SLC) and the Colonels (24-18, 9-6 SLC) are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday, 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. All three games are slated for ESPN+. Live stats will be available online at www.LionSports.net and in the Lions Gameday Experience app. Fans can also receive in-game updates on Twitter by following the @LionUpBaseball account.
 
SLU will send right-hander Will Kinzeler (4-1, 2.92) to the mound in the series opener. He will match up against Colonel right-hander Arturo Rodriguez (1-2, 6.16).
 
Nicholls has not announced a starting pitcher for the middle game of the series. Southeastern will send out Andrew Landry (2-6, 4.29), a junior right-hander from Slidell, Louisiana.
 
Brennan Stuprich (3-4, 6.24) draws the start for the Lions in the series finale opposite Colonel freshman right-hander Jacob Mayers (6-1, 2.16).
 
SLU is led offensively by Tyler Finke (.324), Jake Killingsworth (.278) and Shea Thomas (.274). Finke also leads the team in extra-base hits (17) and the Southland Conference in stolen bases (28). Thomas has driven in a team-high 37 runs.
 
The Lions have dropped their last four games overall following a 10-0 loss to No. 1-ranked LSU Tuesday evening in Hammond. The Colonels dropped two of three games in their conference series at Northwestern State this past weekend.
 
Nicholls' offensive attack is led by Xane Washington (.378), Edgar Alvarez (.342), Gerardo Villarreal (.308) and Austin Cain (.306). Parker Coddou has produced a team-high 24 extra-base hits while Washington also leads the squad in RBIs (34) and stolen bases (13).
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern continues on its six-game road trip with another conference series, May 12-14, against Houston Christian at Husky Field in Houston, Texas. All three games are slated for coverage on ESPN+.
