HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team fell, 10-0, to No. 1-ranked LSU in seven innings Tuesday before a sell-out crowd of 3,214 at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
 
The top four hitters in the LSU (36-8) lineup turned in multi-hit performances at the plate and a pair of Southeastern (19-22) errors proved costly as they led to four unearned runs for the Tigers.
 
Gavin Guidry (3-0) earned the win, retiring all but one batter he faced in 2.1 innings pitched. The freshman right-hander walked one and struck out four batters. Adam Guth (0-1) was charged with the loss after allowing three runs, all unearned, in 2.0 innings pitched.
 
Both teams used six pitchers apiece in the run-rule-shortened contest.
 
Freshman left fielder McGwire Turner and pinch-hitter Bryce Grizzaffi picked up the Lions' two hits.
 
Rhett Rosevear was hit by a pitch with two outs in the third. It was his 22^nd HBP of the season, tying for the second most by a Lion in a single season behind Rosevear's NCAA-record 37 last season. He now has been hit by a pitch 74 times in his career, two shy of tying the program record currently held by Josh Cryer (2008-11).

Southeastern embarks on a six-game road trip with back-to-back Southland Conference series at Nicholls and Houston Christian. The Lions (4-11 SLC) square off against Nicholls (24-18, 9-6 SLC) this coming weekend in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Games are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday, 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday at Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field.
