HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team wraps up its 2023 season with a three-game Southland Conference series at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field against Northwestern State.
Games between Southeastern (22-25, 6-14 SLC) and the Demons (27-22, 12-9 SLC) are scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, 6 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday. Senior Day ceremonies are set for Saturday prior to the first pitch.
General Admission tickets are just $5 for Friday's contest, which includes a postgame fireworks display. Fans can play Baseball Bingo at Saturday's game by picking up a card at the marketing table. The first three completed bingo cards go home as winners. Barn Hill Preserve will also be back at the ballpark Saturday with several of their family-friendly exotic animals.
All three games are slated for coverage on ESPN+. Fans in Hammond can also listen to all the action on KSLU 90.9 FM. There is no streaming audio. Live stats will be available online at www.LionSports.net and in the Lions Gameday Experience app. Fans can also receive in-game updates on Twitter by following the @LionUpBaseball account.
SLU will send right-hander
Andrew Landry (2-6, 3.80) to the mound in the series opener. He will match up against Demon left-hander Cal Carver (6-3, 4.64).
Will Kinzeler (5-1, 3.47), a junior right-hander from Covington, Louisiana, draws the Saturday start for the Lions opposite Northwestern State right-hander Alex Makarewich (5-4, 4.99).
The Demons will send out right-hander Drayton Brown (5-6, 5.93) to finish out the series. Southeastern has not announced a starting pitcher for the finale.
SLU is led offensively by
Tyler Finke (.305),
Jake Killingsworth (.271) and
Shea Thomas (.260). Finke also leads the team in extra-base hits (18) and the Southland Conference in stolen bases (32). Thomas has driven in a team-high 41 runs.
The Lions enter the weekend on a three-game winning streak, having swept a Southland Conference doubleheader at HCU, 5-4 and 9-5, this past weekend and defeating South Alabama, 5-4, Tuesday at home. Northwestern State took two-of-three from McNeese this past weekend in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
Michael Dattalo leads the Southland with a .396 batting average and his 25 extra-base hits pace the Demons. Jake Haze (.315), Jeffrey Elkins (.311) and Daunte Stuart (.300) help drive the Northwestern State offensive attack. Elkins has blasted a team-high 12 home runs and Stuart owns a team-best 40 RBIs.

Single-game tickets are now on sale. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to minimize ticket lines on game days. Southeastern students are encouraged to contact the ticket office prior to the game to reserve theirs in advance.
General admission tickets for most games are $9 for adults and $6 for youth (ages 3-12). Southeastern students, with a university ID, and children under age 2 are admitted for free. Gameday parking is $5 per day for standard vehicles and $25 for RVs.

Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. The ticket booth at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field opens exactly one hour prior to the scheduled first pitch.
Southeastern uses mobile ticketing as the primary method for distributing tickets purchased online. Tickets will be available via text message or email in a PDF format for fans to download on their phone or print at home. Tickets can also be downloaded to Apple Wallet.
