HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team returns to Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field to open the final homestand of the 2023 season Tuesday against South Alabama. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.
 
Southeastern (21-25) faces the Jaguars (23-27) for the only time this season. A previous matchup scheduled for March 28 in Mobile, Alabama was rained out and the teams were unable to find a common date to reschedule the non-conference contest.
 
Tuesday's game is slated for coverage on ESPN+. Fans in the Hammond area can listen on KSLU 90.9 FM. There is no streaming audio. Live stats will be available online at www.LionSports.net and in the Lions Gameday Experience app. Fans can also receive in-game updates on Twitter by following the @LionUpBaseball account.
 
SLU is led offensively by Tyler Finke (.308), Jake Killingsworth (.267) and Shea Thomas (.260). Finke also leads the team in extra-base hits (18) and the Southland Conference in stolen bases (30). Thomas has driven in a team-high 40 runs.
 
The Lions swept a Southland Conference doubleheader at HCU, 5-4 and 9-5, this past weekend. The final game of the series was rained out and will not be rescheduled. South Alabama was swept in a three-game Sun Belt Conference series at home by No. 8-ranked Coastal Carolina. The Jaguars have lost their last six overall.
 
Will Turner (.367), Erick Orbeta (.312) and Joseph Sullivan (.303) are the Jaguars' leading hitters. Sullivan owns a team-high 12 home runs and 19 stolen bases. Turner paces the squad with 48 RBIs.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern wraps up the regular season with a three-game conference series at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field against Northwestern State. Games are scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, 6 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday.
 
Friday's contest features postgame fireworks and $5 general admission tickets. Saturday's series finale is Senior Day and fans can also play baseball bingo during the game.

Single-game tickets are now on sale. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to minimize ticket lines on game days. Southeastern students are encouraged to contact the ticket office prior to the game to reserve theirs in advance.
 
General admission tickets for most games are $9 for adults and $6 for youth (ages 3-12). Southeastern students, with a university ID, and children under age 2 are admitted for free. Gameday parking is $5 per day for standard vehicles and $25 for RVs.
 
Tickets can be purchased online at www.LionSports.net/Tickets or by contacting the Southeastern Athletics Ticket Office at (985) 549-5466. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. The ticket booth at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field opens exactly one hour prior to the scheduled first pitch.

Southeastern uses mobile ticketing as the primary method for distributing tickets purchased online. Tickets will be available via text message or email in a PDF format for fans to download on their phone or print at home. Tickets can also be downloaded to Apple Wallet.
