HAMMOND, La. – The schedule for the annual Pontchartrain Bowl rivalry series between the Southeastern Louisiana University and the University of New Orleans baseball teams has been altered due to excessive rain in the forecast.
 
Southeastern (16-13, 3-3 SLC) and the Privateers (16-13, 2-4 SLC) will now play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Thursday. A final decision on game three of the series will be made at a later time.
 
Live stats will be available online at www.LionSports.net and in the Lions Gameday Experience app. Fans can also receive in-game updates on Twitter by following the @LionUpBaseball account. No streaming video will be available.
 
SLU will send right-hander Brennan Stuprich (3-2, 4.71), a native of Kenner, Louisiana to the mound in the opener. He will match up against Privateer right-hander Collin Horton (2-3, 6.75).
 
Last season, Southeastern swept the Pontchartrain Bowl series in Hammond by scores of 5-4, 10-5 and 9-5. The Lions also won both matchups in the Southland Tournament and have won their last seven games overall against UNO.
 
SLU has claimed the Pontchartrain Bowl five times in the rivalry series' seven-year existence, winning in 2015, 2017-19 and 2022. The series was not played during the 2020 season.
