SLU Hosts No. 25-ranked Southern Miss, Block Party Presented by Barn Hill Tuesday

HAMMOND, La. –  The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team hosts No. 25-ranked Southern Miss Tuesday at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Prior to the game, SLU will also host a block party, presented by Barn Hill Preserve.
 
The block party kicks off at 4:30 p.m. with games, music and exotic animals in the Barn Hill tent. The ballpark gates will open early for the 6 p.m. first pitch against the Golden Eagles (10-5).
 
Live stats will be available online Tuesday at www.LionSports.net and in the Lions Gameday Experience app. Fans can also receive in-game updates on Twitter by following the @LionUpBaseball account. The game is also scheduled for ESPN+.
 
Southeastern (11-5) returns home from a seven-game road trip that saw the Lions claim a series victory over No. 11-ranked Auburn this past weekend, the first weekend series victory for a Southland Conference school over an SEC institution in the last decade.
 
SLU will send left-hander Jay Long (1-1, 4.26) to the mound. He will match up against Southern Miss junior right-hander Billy Oldham (1-0, 4.15).
 
The Lions lead the nation in HBPs (62) and rank fourth in stolen bases (54).
 
Southeastern's offense is led by Tyler Finke (.366), Champ Artigues (.339), Southland Conference Hitter of the Week Jake Killingsworth (.333), Shea Thomas (.315), and TJ Salvaggio (.296).
 
Rhett Rosevear leads the nation in HBPs (13) and is 10th in walks (19). Finke ranks third nationally in stolen bases (17) and seventh in runs scored (27).
 
Southern Miss has won back-to-back games, taking 2-of-3 from Valparaiso in Hattiesburg, Mississippi this past weekend.
 
Slade Wilks (.388), Dustin Dickerson (.351) and Matthew Etzel (.308) are the Golden Eagles' leading hitters. Wilks leads the squad with three home runs. Danny Lynch has driven in a team-high 13 runs. Etzel paces the team with seven stolen bases.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern hosts Memphis in a three-game series at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Games are slated for 6 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. The series marks the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the diamond.
 
TICKET & PARKING INFORMATION
General admission tickets for most games are $9 for adults and $6 for youth (ages 3-12). Southeastern students, with a university ID, and children under age 2 are admitted for free. Gameday parking is $5 per day for standard vehicles and $25 for RVs.
 
The Southeastern Athletics Ticket Office is currently accepting cash only. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. The ticket booth at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field will open two hours prior to the scheduled first pitch this week to accommodate fans.
