Lady Lions Hit the Road to Face Northwestern State, Texas A&M-Commerce

SLU hits the road for two game road trip this weekend. TAMU-C game will be aired on ESPN3.

HAMMOND, La – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team heads to Natchitoches to take on Northwestern State and Texas A&M Commerce in Commerce, Texas this weekend.
 
The Lady Lions (15-8, 10-3 Southland) are coming off of a four-game win streak as they hit the road to face the Lady Demons (10-13, 6-7 Southland) Thursday at 5 p.m. and the TAMU-C Lions (10-14, 8-4 SLC) Saturday at 2 p.m.
 
The game versus NSU will be streamed on ESPN+. The contest between SLU and Texas A&M-Commerce can be viewed on ESPN3. Live stats can be accessed on www.LionSports.net.
 
Hailey Giaratano has been a standout Lady Lion the past few weeks. Giaratano led with 23 points against McNeese last Thursday and is currently ranked in the top ten for scoring with a 12.5 ppg average. Southeastern is number four in the Southland Conference in scoring. Natalie Kelly is in the top three in rebounds with an 8.5 rpg and is number one in blocked shots with an average 2.6 blocks per game. Jen Pierre is in the top ten in assists in the conference, averaging 2.8 assists per game.
 
Southeastern had a big win on the road against McNeese last Thursday as SLU pulled a 72-64 win over the Cowgirls before going home to take on Nicholls in the University Center last Saturday where the Lady Lions extended their record with a 90-52 win.
 
The Lady Demons are 10-13 overall and are ranked sixth in the conference and are coming off a win against TAMU-C Lions, 71-66. Candice Paramore leads the Lady Demons with a 12.4 ppg average. Alecia Whyte leads in rebounds with 5.4 rebounds per game.
 
The Commerce Lions are ranked number three in the Southland with a 8-4 conference record. TAMU-C is coming off of a two-game contest versus NSU going 1-1. Texas A&M-Commerce's last game ended in a 71-66 loss versus the Lady Demons. Dyani Robinson leads the Commerce Lions in points with 17.4 points ppg. Laila Lawrence leads in rebounds with 6.8 rebounds ppg.
 
The Lady lions will continue their last road trek of the regular season with a contest in Beaumont, Texas against Lamar Thursday February 23 at 5 p.m. before heading home to take on McNeese at home Saturday February 25 at 1 p.m. Thursday's game will be streamed on ESPN+ and Saturday's game can be viewed on ESPN3 at 1 p.m. Live stats can be accessed on www.LionSports.net
