HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team returns to Hammond, America after five tough games out of town, hoping some home cooking will help get SLU back in the win column as Southern-New Orleans comes to town for a Tuesday night game in the Pride Roofing University Center.
Tuesday's game between the Lions (1-5) and Knights (0-9) will tip-off at 6:00 p.m. in the Pride Roofing University Center. The game will be live streamed on ESPN+ with live stats also available through LionSports.net.
Southeastern looks to end a five-game losing streak, having dropped all five games on the recent road trip.
Roger McFarlane picked up his second 20-point game of the season in SLU's last game, finishing with exactly 20 points against Tennessee State in Southeastern's final game of the Emerald Coast Classic, a 91-77 loss on Saturday.
McFarlane continues to lead the team in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.7 points and 5.8 boards per contest.
Nick Caldwell and
Alec Woodard are teetering on double-digits in scoring on the year, averaging 9.5 and 9.3 points per game respectively heading into Tuesday's contest. Caldwell, who is just four games away from tying the SLU career games played record, starts the week just 13 points away from hitting 1,000 career points.
While Tuesday's game will be an exhibition for SUNO, the Knights come into the game looking to improve their play as they prepare for Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action, which starts on Thursday.
Jamal Gibson leads the Knights in scoring, averaging 15.2 points per game while hitting 43.1% of his shots on the year. Devin Daniels scores 11.5 points per game and hits 58.1% of his shots. SUNO averages 68.8 points per game as a team and hits 40% of their shots while giving up 82.9 points per game with opponents hitting 47.1% of their shots against the Knights.
This is a temporary stop at home for the Lions as Southeastern will start a four-game road trip after the game against SUNO.
